That looks cool. I think the coaster expirience with the dark ride will be a good mix! And if Moher-Saruhn's (yeah spelling I know) coasters are anything like Gershlauter's, it'll be a fun little coaster as well.

Where are they planning to put the dark ride scenes?

What I don't get is if the coaster part will be covered up. Will it be housed in a Studio building or will the coaster part be outside? Concept art isn't really clear.

I'm pretty sure the dark ride is before the lift and the ride will be inclosed.

Re: Crush Turtle Twister : Coaster track almost complete !

Any body have a link to the concept art?

I think that it was supposed to be completely enclosed (to simulate
being under water).

I also vaguely remember someone saying that it's also partly a water/flume ride?!
(maybe I'm confusing this w/ another ride concept :-)
This is the one w/ the spinning cars, right?

The ride will leave the station and go into extended track. It will go through a scene, outside to look at WDS for a moment, then inside to another scene, and onto the lift hill which will be themed to the inside of a sub.
It will not be filled with water, but it will be "dry for wet"...dry scenes looks like under water.
After the lift hill, the coaster part will be themed to be underwater riding the Easter Austrailia Current.

The whole ride will be indoors in a soundstage except for the quick outdoor part.

Any others?

Re: Crush Turtle Twister : Coaster track almost complete !

that coaster portion is a complete clone...my local amusement park where I'm working this summer has that exact layout. It's fun and all but VERY short.

Thanks, tloolgb, that jibes w/ what I remember... basically effects (such as
bubbles in water) surrounded in optically neutral acrylic (including some
projections ala DL's subs).

Oh, the cars are supposed to be turtle shapes to simulate you riding on
Crush (or another turtle's) back.

pyrates: would you happen to have a pic of that ride?

Yes it is an off the shelf coaster with extra track areas and a modified loading area.

Rumor has it that DCA will have this ride in the future. The track layout looks pretty exciting!

If you heard the capacity of this ride, you might be less excited for it. 930/hour (and you can't really up that--the dispatch interval has to remain constant due to the coaster's set up). It's a fun little ride, but nothing spectacular. It's the cheapest version of the ride available--I'm pretty shocked that Disney went with it. They have a much longer version available. This is the one that fairs use. Cheap, Disney.

I'm kinda surprised that they didn't modify it, though--that first drop is pretty intense--it's at like 75º, and then there is the overbanked turn.

Re: Crush Turtle Twister : Coaster track almost complete !

The concept art is confusing. in some sketches it is a tub with guests facing each other as if the car maight spin or rotate, other sketches show the guests sitting behnd each other in rows.
