WDS, what would you put in??

It seems we all have a rather harsh opinion on the WSD, so i put it to you all, what would you put in there to improve it??

I'm not just talking about clones from other parks but new rides that you guys have invented yourselves. Also styles of buildings to be used.

But remember the rides need to be themed around a Disney movie, live action or animated.

I personally would live to see Soarin' but not the DL or WDW one, but a new version like Soarin' over Narnia.

This should be fun, lets hope it doesn't turn into some kind or cat fight.

Get your thinking caps on.

I definately think that there should be more rollercoasters....
and not short ones like Indiana Jones or the Rockin roller coaster...
They should be long...

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

A James Bond themed IJA/Test Track style ride would be amazing! Flames, SFX, huge projections. It would be orignal.

Realistically, I feel Fantasmic! or some better theming would be appropriate.

I do like this park, but I only go to Disney Hotels which means park entrance is free.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

This is what I put in the thread here.

Quote:
Most importantly I'd put a new Special F/X show between Television Studios and Cinemagic. I was originally thinking a Stitch show till I saw the one in WDW. So I'd say some form of Alien Encounter.

A Monster's Inc dark ride by Animagique and Toon Studios.

Move the tram tour station, build a hub with a fountain, and a new street going back behind it with the tram station now on the right of that street. Open up and expand the London Street Sets, get rid of that stupid Reign of Fire look and make it realistic. Get back the rights to 007 and put a 007 ride in there.

Make a connection from the new hub to Toon Studios, add something Muppets along there. Go back off the new street behind M...A! and add a new lake with Fantasmic!. Add realistic City sets to the exterior of M...A! and RnRC and a small fountain or water over there...and somewhere add a ride about all movies in general. This is a "studio" after all.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

Well if we're gonna quote, this is what I put,
Quote:
I think it should be modelled more on a Hollywood, working, breathing film studio. More Streetmosphere characters walking around, more interactive objects, more Disney Details that we know and love, just a breath a bit of life into the place. It is so industrial. It needs charm, a richness that has made the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts name.

It needs night-time entertainment, more original attractions, it needs to make its name as its own theme park. I tell you what Euro Disney SCA and WDI should do - make the park good enough for a French family of DLRP annual passholders to say to eachother "Shall we go to the Walt Disney Studios today?" Not, "Shall we go to Disneyland today, and maybe go to the Studios when the good park gets too busy?"

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

All good suggestions. I think Toon Studios has a lot of potential for expansion in future years - I'd love to see something on a non-Pixar theme. Maybe a new Stitch ride of some sort, as he's certainly the most popular Disney character of recent years.

I would still like to see some form of sound effects studio built - a development of the Sounds Dangerous attraction in Florida, where guests have to put sound effects to a silent movie.

And a proper, table service restaurant! There's far more to a Disney park than just rides, after all.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

I think the original concept was very appealing, with the Dick Tracy ride on the "Indy" system, or how about the actual Studio that was meant to be a part of the park. This is really the first "Studios" type theme park in Europe and many that haven't been to the US might not really understand the concept of a Studios Park.

The Chinese theatre with the Movie ride would appeal to European guests, and I can't believe they replaced it with Tower of Terror smack dab in the middle of the park.

I don't think its too late to save WDSP, but if Disney is going to do it, they need to do it now.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

I haven't been to WDS, so im not going to pretend to be an expert, all i know about it is what ive read on the boards.

however, it seems to me like it is in need of 2-3 more e-tickets (after ToT) and many many more c/d tickets

I would like to see a dick tracy e-ticket, to really try and put people into that era when hollywood was so idealized. possibly something like universals spiderman ride, w/ some interactivity mixed in?

fantasmic i think is a must, and although it is a show, it is most definitely an "e-ticket" show. a show like that has the ability to draw crowds into the park all on its own merits, as DL has shown.

for a 3rd e-ticket, i would say soarin. even though i think the park needs more rides that move you around, not just shows, or putting you in front of a screen, or move you up and down (ToT). guests wanna be taken somewhere, not shown something. however, i think soarin would be an easy build, and could possibly even be created as a soarin over europe theme. I think this ride probably will be built, im just not sure how it fits the studio theme. any suggestions as to a background story? anyone?

some dark rides that can serve as people eaters i think are MUSTS. things like a great movie ride, maybe a great muppet movie ride instead. some pixar/disney animated movie dark rides. i think a ride such as this, one that takes you through the greatest movies of all times (at least the ones that disney owns the rights to lol), is vital to any studio park.

muppets 3D maybe? again its a show, but it can serve as a good, cheap, possibly even temporary fix until somthing better comes along.

I agree with whoever said that the toon section has a lot of potential. maybe a fab 5 dark ride, or even one themed just on mickey, highlighting his days from steamboat all the way through present day.

possibly an attraction paying homage to walt himself? after all the park is named after him... something lincoln-esque with a lifelike AA walt?

what do u guys think? any of these ideas practical? maybe even probable?

Some of them...I think there would be a whole war over what he'd do if you put in a Walt AA...but yeah you got it right...the park needs more basic substance.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

All very good suggestions, i like what i read.

Was having a think about this and came up with another attraction that i would like to see.

Ar we all familiar with the ride "Air" at Alton Towers?? Well, how about having that ride format but theming it around the Rocketeer??

Think that would work???

That is THE first time i've read anything on MC about a British ride! I've never been to Alton Towers though (is it good)

ANYWAY.... I feel the GMR would fit perfectly in WDS, in place of STT station. A new Indiana Jones Adventure should go in the current place of Reign of Fire section of STT. What would be cool would be a huge Star Wars building, full of 3 Dimensional Diorama/set type things (Death star, Tatooine etc.) with some AA's.

In a drastic move, the STT would be removed, having Catastrophy canyon as a walk on show (like Armageddon). The spce that has been freed up could be used for Sunset Boulevard and street sets.

Fantasmic! could go in somewhere as well, and the main buildings should be redecorated.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

I personally find the lack of theming to be a problem at WDS. It all looks so cheap and half-made, it really angers me, especially when you look at parks like TDS, heck, even DCA, and just see how much more beautiful they are.

Re: WDS, what would you put in??

Well after reading the article on MiceAge about the studios i'm sure the future will be brighter! Concept art for Toon Studios looks great! (although I don't understand the addition of the semi-toon town?!) New names for the 'lands' is a good idea: Hollywood Studios, Toon Studios and Action Studios.
It doesn't mean I stopped praying for a 'Studios Lake' or a large fountain but I think WDS will be sweet by the end of 2007!
