Le Thunder Mountain

I've not been to DRP, but I was being a voyeur via Google maps and I noticed that Thunder Mountain appeared to be on an island with no bridges visible to the "mainland".

My question is, do guests need to board boats, rafts or what have you to get to the ride and back?

Re: Le Thunder Mountain

There's a tunnel that the coaster traverses. You board on the mainland.

And that ride under the River, particularly the ride back is Wild. One of the many reasons why DLP's BTMRR is considered the finest!

Re: Le Thunder Mountain

It really adds something to the mix. Plus a nice view in Frontierland!

It certainly is better than any other version of Big Thunder Mountain, but I wouldn't say it's that much better. Aside from the unique island in the middle of the river concept and a more intense ride, it retains the same experience and atmosphere as any other Big Thunder Mountain.
