Re: Silhouette artist in Disneyland Paris

I agree as well. My problem is the lack of variety. Most shops sell the same crap all over the property. Same problem at DLR/HKDL/DLP and even TDR which has been following the same merchandise practices since TDS opened.

What is the WDW merchandise like TDLFAN, is there more variety?

There is a bit more variety at WDW due to the many parks and resorts on property, but for the most part, you go to any single shop at WDW and see the same plushes, the same Pirates stuff, the same KB Toy-quality junk, and the same pins. It's just depressing.

Really? That's a surprise (and a crying shame) since one of the highlights of my visit to TDS a few years ago was finding that each shop in the park stocked its own merchandise almost exclusively! It made such a difference.
By the way, does anyone else remember the days when Main Street Motors in Paris sold real vintage cars and driving accessories? (And not Winnie the Pook plush toys!) And how about the little newsagents tucked away on Market Street, that used to sell newspapers from across Europe, so you could sit down and read while you enjoyed a cup of something hot from The Coffee Grinder, opposite?

Still...TDL does that better than anyone else around, but I wonder how long that will last. at TDL, It's refreshing you can still find western gear in Westerland and tropical merchandise in Adventureland.

I remember all those things but of course... obviously no one bought a vintage car and the paper idea, while noble, apparently didn't do well either. I had such high hopes for DLP when it first opened... It's sad what has happened there. Yet! I feel the merchandise there did improve over what they used to sell in the early days of the park.

Ah yes, the good old days. Add in a brass band, a cowboy stunt show, a pirate sword fight, a sword in the stone ceremony, african drummers, and an alien band. Mix in walk around Star Wars characters, the bazaar, the Silhoette Artist, a store that just sells vintage cars, and fireworks every night, and I can be back in the heydey of 1992!
