Holywood Bld at the WDS!

This is the very first concert art picture of the coming Holywood Bld at the WDS.
However, according to DLRP.fr the buildings will be different and similar to Disney's California Adventure Hollywood Backlot buildings...

Very nice! Needs a little more color, though.

ORWEN: Maybe they're trying to be so faithful to the time period for Hollywood back in the 30's or 40's--which might mean things weren't quite so colorful back then.

Re: Holywood Bld at the WDS!

BTW.... if anyone here has the chance to get one of the new WDSP guidemaps, with the 15th anniversary logo on them... open them up and take a look. The new guidemaps are already featuring TOT, Crush's Coaster, Cars attraction and some of the new facades on it's park map design. I was surprised to see the backside area where the new Cars and Crush's attractions will be at, will also feature a similar background to DL/TDL's Toontown...the mountain with the "toontown" name spelled on it? If they pull this off well, this corner of WDSP will be quite nice to look at. However, much work should be done at the OTHER end of the park, where R&R Coaster and Motors Shows is? Very depressing area for me.

Intersting to see the working Studio theme being dropped in this area.

It's not Malin, it's just being changed. The street scenes will not be 3d like Main Street, rather they will look real in the front, but you will see the steel girders in the back, it will be like walking around a backlot set at a real studios (or the fake ones at MGM and DCA).

Meanwhile, a store or a restaurant would've been nice. There's already so little inside this park that hustles and/or bustles. I love the fact that they're finally doing this (and ending once and for all the pictures of the Partners Statue superimposed with that lurid Tram Tour backdrop), and I love the cars and the neon and the '40s vibe... But would it kill them to put in a store?

Remember that this is not the final Artwork for this area.

I actually think that there will be a couple of shops, or at the very least a cafe/restaurant across the street from TOT.

This is not going to be a huge set, it's quite a small space and I am sure that when this boulevard is eventually extended they will include more shops/cafes etc

Maybe they're being mindful of the cost!

I agree pussnboots, but there really isn't the space in this area unless it was a hotdog stand or something within a facade. The masterplan is to eventually lengthen the bvd past the tramtour to extend the park, and then I think we will see more shops and restaurants.

Re: Holywood Bld at the WDS!

How does any of this make sense?

Walt Disney Studios Paris has a concept that is fundamentally flawed. A studio tour & theme park that doesn't have a working studio is just asinine. So, no matter how much paint and how many trees Disney adds to the place, the attraction is still going to fail until such time as the original idea to build a second gate of this nature is reconsidered.

Agreed.

But when you have lemons, the best thing to do is to make lemonade.

WDS is a lemon.
