Disneyland Paris - More Locals or Out of Area Visitors?

Which is it? Disneyland in CA is more locals, WDW Resort is more out of area tourists, which is it for Disneyland Paris?

Haven't been to DLP yet, but am researching for an upcoming trip. According to Simon Veness's "Brit's Guide to DLP", about 40% of DLP visitors are French. So that means more out of area visitors.

You always see a lot of other european visitors from Spain, Germany and Italy.. French also. Not too many UK people as they waste their time and money coming to Orlando insted, where they burn to a pinky crisp.

Parisians are not so big on their Disney park as Tokyo people are but they still go more like once a year. The french average visit must be much less than that though. May depend on location, i'm from Lyon, I have a TGV line leading straight in the heart of the resort. But for people on the west coast (yeah we got one too It's actually a bit harder.

True, but not quite. After France, the largest number of DLP guests are British. After that it's either the Dutch or the Belgians or both, and the number of Germans has always been disappointing.

I have no idea how many of those French guests are locals, though.

During my visit I definitely remember seeing Germans, some Italians and a family of Indians, and a whole lot of French.

Ah, here we go. These numbers are from a few years ago but are reasonably representative of the current situation:

- 40% France
- 21% UK
- 9% Netherlands
- 9% Italy & Spain
- 7% Germany
- 6% Belgium & Luxembourg
- 8% Other

I'm not sure why they lumped Italy and Spain together, but as you can see the number of Brits is quite high and the number of Germans far less than what you'd expect of such a densely populated neighboring country.

Actually when the Park Opened in 1992 the average of Germans were far bigger . Germans don't come that often now because in 1992 nothing was translated in German and also don't Forget that Disney didn't sell any beers anywhere in the resort at that time . It was like the french .

A French without having a wine in a table service that was very bad !

Now wines and beers are sold to all restaurants and beer for fast food .

Also with the opening of the new TGV East the Germans folks will now have a Train straight to Disney .

The "OTHER 8%" must be Japanese, since I always see some of the japanese tourists at DLP, wearing a lot of the stuff they buy at TDR... like the Marie ears and ticket holders not available outside of TDR. I wonder what they think of the cleanliness of that resorts...

The "OTHER 8%" isn't one hundred percent Japanese.

Yeah! My friend and I were some of those Americans! But not riding SM because it goes upside down, that's funny!
