Post Just Back From Dlp

We decided to self drive to Disney this year...took the 7.40 ferry from Dover and then drove down on the peage (toll roads) to arrive at Disney at 2.30. We stayed at the Santa fe this year as there was no spaces a cheyenne when I booked. For a budget hotel, it comfortable enough and our room overlooked the cheyenne so walking into Disney village wasn't too much of a hardship. We got into the park at 3.30 and booked a table for 5.00 at Walts....my fav restaurant in Disney!
Very crowded but to be expected. Space Mountain was our first ride, they had stopped any queses and were just admitting fast pass ticket holders so we picked up our fast passes and had dinner before returning!!!
(hmmm maybe not a good idea but happy to report we all managed to hold onto dinner!!!!)
This is my 10 yr old daughters favourite ride so we did this one a few times over the next few days!!!!
We wandered around all of the lands checking it all out ready for action over the next few days, it was the last day of Fantillusion, candleabration and wishes so the parked was packed right up until 11.00pm.

Day 2, Disney's studio park!!! Straight onto the rock n' rollercoaster at 10.30 with a 10 min queue which was great...after this we watched the Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show for the first time...can't believe we hadn't bothered before as it was good....Armageddon followed...now I love the film...and I mean love...so this is disappointing for me but we had taken someone who had never been to Disney parks before so tried to fit in everything. We also watched the cinemagique for the first time.....I think some of he other shows like ths have always been quite disappointing so had never got around to doing this one but actually really enjoyed it....just as we had coffee Lilo and Stitch appeared for a meet and greet...as we were the only ones there the girls had ages with them before the area became swamped (and this goes for much of our trip...right place at right time!!!) Studion tram tours and flying carpets next all with really low waiting times.....at about 6 we braved the queue for Crush's coaster which was set at 90 mins.. it was all of this......they really need to make this a fastpass ride!!!!......it was, however, worth the wait as we all enjoyed it very much.

We moved back into the Disney park which was really busy now, dived out to Disney Village to eat at Cafe Mickey which is always a pleasure before returning for extra magic hours...what a great time to visit the park....Indiana jones first, followed to 2 consecutive rides on POTC without having to get off, Thunder mountain followed then space mountain again..it's amazing what you can do in 2 hrs....then Buzz's star command(which is usually really busy in the daytime, but again a 5-10 min wait.) Peter pan and Pinocchio followed and also a few goes on the teacups.....after 13 hours of Disney we were all shattered so back to hotel for sleep....ahhhhhh

Day 3, determined to get the shows in....tried Winnie the Pooh first but CM's were turning people away....this show must have been cancelled as it wasn't on all day.....Lion King and Honey, I shrunk the audience followed, we fast passed star tours first so when we came out we did this one straight away. We also did it's a small world and managed to not bang my head in sheer agaony at the tune..my daughter loves this ride sadly!!! We managed to fit in all the other rides that we had not managed to do on the previous 2 days which was a really push but we did it!!!! Dinner at the Silver Spur that evening which was a bit rushed...but the food was good. We finished eating just before the park closed but none of us were feeling too good so back to hotel ready to pack for returning on day 4.

Day 4....Food Poisoning!!!! We were all feeling sick and had stomach cramps so instead of spending one last morning in the park...we set off for Calais....after stopping off at nearly every services...we arrived in Calais at 3.00pm, had a quick hypermarket shop and then straight to ferry terminal where we were booked onto an earlier ferry home...got home at 8.45 last night after a memorable trip and there wasn't a lot of pushing in any of the queues either which is a miracle...hallelujah

Re: Just Back From Dlp

Nice report, how I wish the tram tour had low waiting times when I went, 35 minutes!!! May not sound like a great deal at first but it felt so much longer, that queue is dreadful. Nice photos

Yes, real food poisoning and you would not have managed to drive outside of Disney property - never mind to Calais!

Good report and nice pics. Sad to hear that Fantillusion and Wishes have been put in mothballs - anyone know when they are coming back? Halloween? Christmas?

I think I was in DLP after you had been and I saw Fantillusion and Wishes. =S Confused as you said it was the last day of them.

Thanks for sharing your trip. I always like seeing pictures from all the parks I haven't been to. I've seen the one of the dragon before, but I don't remember where it's from. Is it in the castle?

Re: Just Back From Dlp

Welcome and enjoy! Please feel free to join in with the banter!

A trip report would be nice and although you seem an old hand at DLP, please feel free to ask any questions about the parks. There is a lot of accumulated wisdom on these forums (!)

Have a good trip and I look forward to your Trip Report

Re: Just Back From Dlp

Your 12 year old doesn't want to go?! Unbelievable! Excommunicate him from the family!

Since its three years since your last visit, make sure you pick up the tips on this site for things like Crush's Coaster as well as the 15th Anniversary goings-on.
