Tunnel of Doom - Silly but fun idea

Ok, Hollywood Blvd gets Tower of Terror and more street sets are inevitable right? New York, Venice, the list goes on, but the one I want to focus on is New York. If they're plonking the HTH in the middle of a set with no explanation (we might as well abandon hope folks) they might as well do similar things with other street sets, hence...

TUNNEL OF DOOM!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ok, this is a silly, possibly impractical, maybe even too similar too ToT in idea attraction but I just had to write it down somewhere. The concept? An abandoned, haunted subway station in New York. You descend the stairs and enter the prison-like, foreboding subway, old and strangely lit. You are part of a restoration team trying to sort out this mess but have no idea what's in store for you...

You unknowingly board one of the abandoned trains but then feel a jolt. You shuffle forward into the dark tunnel then stop. Lightening flashes all around, mist swirls, purple mood lights creep out and then the train roof rips off to reveal a tornado of thunder above. A huge crash of lightening and you're off, hurtling down the track at 130m/ph on the world's fastest ride, some forwards some backwards. Then you stop suddenly. Silence, blackness. The lights flicker on, a crackly message says 'thank you for riding the new y-' then you shoot off in the other direction again, blasting through the station and up a huge vertical hill, out of the tunnel and into a special effects room with lightening and such. You slow, stop for a second then thunder back into the tunnel, coming to a stop where you boarded. You have just ridden the world's fastest ride...and it's themed.

Yeah yeah, insult the plan but it was just meant to be a bit fun. Well? I tohught also that, say, Hong Kong could get this as the Twilight Zone attraction in stead of ToT or something I dunno. What do y'all think?

Re: Tunnel of Doom - Silly but fun idea

It needs a monster.

And some ghosts.

Nonsense, tish and pish I say! It would obviously have a properly fleshed out story and stuff, not that it matters since it's not real

Sounds like a great ride, too bad Disney doesn't now how to build an original ride outside of Tokyo
anymore. Well, they know how to, they just don't want to pay for it.

Expedition Everest, Crush's Coaster! They've still got something in 'em! Thank you for your praise but judging by your display name, I think my reluctant addition of ghosts might have enticed you lol

Re: Tunnel of Doom - Silly but fun idea

The train is the monster, a roaring metal monster. The headlights kind of look like eyes!
