Toy Story Mania

After viewing Alain Lattaye's latest DLRP update he makes mention of what will be next for the Studios.Below is what I consider an interesting qoute...

Alain Lattaye: The word is that it will be an interactive attraction, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was 'Toy Story Mania' or some other theme using the same technology. Basically Soarin' is considered an 'E ticket' and management would prefer a cheaper 'D' ticket before they make another large investment. They want to capitalize on as well as maximize the expected success of the Tower for the next 3-4 years.

Throughts please?

Let's be realistic. A retheme won't happen. It'll be a clone if anything.

Re: Toy Story Mania

They just got Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast! I don't think that they will place a attraction with a simular theme that fast !

I'm hoping for Soarin' !

Re: Toy Story Mania

I welcome this news a lot more than the possibility of Boarin'.

And rides with similar themes appearing closely together has not stopped Disney in the past.

And who's saying Toy Story Mania won't go into Toon Studios? The quote points to Boarin' still coming but something coming first.

True. However, Disney may have seen the overwhelmingly positive guest reaction to Buzz and thought to themselves, "We should have one of those in the Studios".

The idea of a D-ticket following up the Tower of Terror strikes me as a reasonable move, as the park needs padding out with smaller attractions just as much as it needs big hitters. And we already know there's plenty of space to expand Toon Studio. It's an intiguing possibility; a left field choice, but a credible one.

Re: Toy Story Mania

The amount of excitment there seems to be in the US parks over the up-coming Toy Story Manias would point to this being a good move.

And it may mean a shorter wait for Crush!

Re: Toy Story Mania

Just had a thought - if we get Toy Story Mania, does that mean we can have a Mr. Potato Head themed shop? Can we? Pretty please!

The story said the new ride would go between Rock'n Roller coaster and Stunt show.

Re: Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania a D-ticket? I don't think so; it's supposedly costing $80 million, which is definitely in the range of E-ticket attractions.

Re: Toy Story Mania

Well it looks like the chances of Mania are far higher than Soarin' right now http://www.photosmagiques.com/wdsfan...EZAlAkJHcFzYah. This article states it has been postponed. I only hope they either stick a Backlot-style attraction there (ie. action-themed, AE being perfect) or build a path to a new land; there's the certainly the space, the only problem would be it would lead to nowhere unless they did a huge circuit up and round through the forest. I just hope they don't screw up like they may well be doing at DCA

Re: Toy Story Mania

I am certainly more excited about TSM than I ever was about Boarin' but if they place it outside of Toon Studios I may be forced to stamp my little feet.
