![]() | Favourite DLP AAs So what's your favourite AAs in DLP? Mine (in no particular order) are... The fencing pirates (POTC) The Vincent Price Sleleton (PM) The stubburn mule (PM) The donkey looking over the half-door in the auction scene (POTC) (Please do not think that my third and fourth choices point to me having a strange donkey fetish - I just happen to think that Disney Imagineers do donkeys very well. That also includes the ones in BTM)

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs I think the sword-fighters are a little overrated myself... 1. The Timekeeper (yup, he was just amazing) 2. The possums on BTM (noticed them second time, how ace) 3. Buzz (it's just SO good!)

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs Dragon. As much as I love POTC, the pre-Johnny Depp AAs have never impressed me much animation-wise. Which is okay, since no one ever said they needed to be realistic, but I'm not putting any of them in my list. Not even DLP's fencing ones. *is tough crowd* Also, Buzz, but strangely enough only the English version. The second the French spiel kicks in, the face projection becomes darker and the effect is ruined a little. |

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs Wow, I thought I was the only who felt this way! When I saw them for the first time about a year ago, they only had some minor wrist twitches, and of course the swords didn't even come close to connecting; hardly the fluid masterpieces I had been led to expect... I agree, though, about the dragon. For such a large AA it has some surprisingly subtle animation... |

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs I forgot about Buzz. And the dragon! I also like Zurg in the Buzz ride although by the very nature of the character, the animation is pretty basic. As for the fencing pirates, I will admit that they don't stand up to close scrutiny. But the sound effects and the general movement do a good job and the mind of the casual observer fills in the gaps (ie the swords actually touching) And how about those donkeys eh?

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs The old man sitting on rocking chair by the Rivers of far west is (when working) quite well animated, even though just a simple AA.

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs Looks like Buzz and the donkeys are currently neck-and-neck with the dragon a close third.

![]() | Re: Favourite DLP AAs I think the Dragon is by far the best AA in the park, not just the Dragon itself but the whole area its in, the cave is full of wonderful details. I also love the black wolf on the Stone Bridge of Thunder Mountain, the way he (or she) howles and moves at the same time in my eyes is so realistic. But the Chickens in the crate in POTC (the wench auction scene) realy make me smile, only because they "click" when their beaks open and close, always have LOL! Off to DLRP on the 25th, cant wait, Disneyland Hotel here i come!!!!!! |
