The Euro(Disney)vision Song Contest

It occured to me recently that the DLP songs tend to be rather 'Eurovision' in their execution. I do not mean this an insult but I am sure that you will agree that they are rather 'Europop' and would not look out of place in an average Eurovision competition.

So, for the first time ever (I think) - I present the Euro(Disney)vision Song Contest!

I have narrowed the finalists down to six from DLP's history and decided to avoid 'seasonal' songs such as Halloween and Chante', c'est Noel.

Vote now!

Re: The Euro(Disney)vision Song Contest

They all sound the same to me. Except the Cinema Parade song, which I quite like.

But yes, the DLRP people do love their europop, don't they.

Re: The Euro(Disney)vision Song Contest

Ironically, The Cinema Parade song was a very last minute addition - hence the description of 'six finalists' and there actually being seven!

They aren't all that bad though and although there may be similarities, they certainly don't all sound the same (at least to my lugs). Get voting man!

Re: The Euro(Disney)vision Song Contest

Oh, now come on. You have to admit that "All Around the World" and "Dancin' a Catchy Rythm" were essentially the same song.

But isn't that the whole point with europop? I mean, I once listened to all of Atomic Kitten's albums* and thought, "what a nice song".

That's amazing! It's like they took the Eurovision Song Contest and managed to extract its essence in a previously unknown purity.

I like to think of them as musical Gods.

How could you avoid It's Hallo-ween??? That song was stuck in my head for weeks (my wife has it on her ipod!).

And wheres the Character Express song? Choo Chooo!!

Actually, has anyone got a source for the Character Express song? it doesn't seem to be on the 15th CD and would like it for the holiday video editing

I'm very ashamed to admit something about this video...

The guy who asks if you would like 'something to suck on' (the skinny dark haired guy) - I kind of know him. He lives near to me and we move in similar circles (that's theatrical circles before you get the wrong idea!).

I can't believe that I just admitted that - thank God for interweb anonimity!

Ashamed? Rubbish! We must celebrate their camp, tongue-firmly-in-cheek, cheesy Britishness.

It's my personal mission to make that dance routine a cult classic.

Do you really? Well that's hardly something to be ashamed of. I'm sure he's very nice. Probably snatched up by some lucky woman, though.

But I do wonder what kind of "circles" you could be working in where you could run into Eurovision rejects. You don't happen to work at Pizza Hut, do you?
