Options to get from airport to DLRP?

Looking for advice on getting from CDG airport to DLRP. What would you recommend that I do? I should clear immigration by about 11:00 on a Wed and am staying on the property. Also, what about getting back to the airport when it's time to go home?

I'd recommend the VEA shuttle buses. It costs 16 Euros (you can pay the driver). They have a regular schedule both to and from CDG.

You can also do the RER train with a connection in the city, but the VEA busses are the way to go.

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

The good thing about the VEA is that it stops right outside the terminal and stops directly outside the hotel main entrances. It also runs on a very regular timetable (every half hour mainly) so you don't have to wait long for one. Timetables are available at the hotels for your return trip and the price is a flat-rate regardless of which hotel or terminal you are at.

Which hotel are you staying in? The VEA stops at the Newport first followed by the Sequoia. Don't know where it goes after that - we always stay at the Sequoia! Anyone know the complete route through the Resort?

The main problem with the VEA is that if it doesn't fill up at your terminal, you may find that it stops at every other one on the way out of the airport (and CDG is a big airport!) collecting more people. This can add up to 20 minutes to the regular 30-40 minute journey. The return journey stops at all terminals so I would recommend giving yourself a conservative hour to get from hotel bak to CDG.

I didn't know about the VEA buses last time I went. I took the RER. It worked.

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

I just got back from the the Resort and the drivers for the VEA buses were actually on strike and I had to catch the train back to CDG Airport. So you may like to take that into consideration. The train from the Resort to the Airport was only a 10 minute journey so no time was wasted.

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

I found the buses to be very efficient and comfortable if the journey was a little longer than expected

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm at the Sequoia so the VEA sounds like the easiest. With RER as a backup. I thought I read somewhere that you could use the TGV or something like that to get from CDG to DLRP? Anyone know about that train?

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

The TGV is by far the easiest way to get from CDG to DLRP.
The station is located in terminal 2, trains depart about every 25 minutes and the journey time is only 11 minutes, DLRP is the next stop from CDG.

Re: Options to get from airport to DLRP?

I can recomend the TGV only if you don't mind a bit of walking with your lugage. Depending on where your flight lands it can be quite a trek to the station. But was the most convinient way of getting to the Resort through.

If you're feeling adventurous in a lawless sort of way, I have read several times that they don't ever check for tickets in those last 15 minutes it takes the TGV to reach DLRP. Or that the chances are so slim it may be worth risking a fine.

But I've never tried it myself, so I hereby waive all accountability, haha. I did once do something naughty on the RER though, and I'm not talking about masturbating on people's coats like they do in London and NY.

Interesting you mention this as we were never checked for tickets on Friday either.

There are sooo many wrong things about that post Puss that it beggers belief!

And what was your naughty act on the RER?

I chose to just shake my head and ignore that as I don't think I want to know what kind of acts Puss got up to on the RER
