Christmas Comes (Too) Early

Well, its not even Halloween and this link appeared in my mailbox today...

http://www.disneymagicalchristmas.com/uk/en/

I do like them sticking with the red carpet theme across all of the 15th anniversary year but, is it just me or does Snow White look kinda scary there?!

As usual, lots of 'coming soons' and not much actual content, but it does look nice.

I'm guessing "Santa's Wacky Workshop" refers to what they're building at Critter Corral?

Christmas also appears early inside Disneyland Park, because they are already installing the Princesses Lights on top of the lampposts which were still in place for the 15th celebration banners.

Re: Christmas Comes (Too) Early

So it looks like Candlebration is going to include a new Christmas number involving the Disney Princes and Princesses. Oh and Santa will be apearing in the parade too.

Is Santa's Wacky workshop not just going to be a games page on the site? That was my assumption.

Meet Father Christmas

With his famous white beard, bright red suit, and bulging red sack, there's no mistaking the real Father Christmas, and he'll be welcoming visitors personally this Christmas inside his grotto in Father Christmas Village. Come and meet him for yourself, and tell him your Christmas secrets.

Re: Christmas Comes (Too) Early

Does Santa give guests a gift when they visit him? Somehow I think not.

It seems a shame that the Christmas programme comprises of the normal Christmas stuff (Belle's Village, Mickey's Wonderland) and the 15th stuff with added Christmas-ness (Candlebration, the parade). Couldn't we have something a bit more spectacular this year? I've never been to DLP at Christmas and although I have considered it in the past, there would need to be something pretty special there to make me brave the weather at that time of year - nothing on that site makes me want to reach for the phone with my credit card.

Re: Christmas Comes (Too) Early

I think Main Street should be made into a Christmas Wonderland with now on the roofs and lights and bells and allsorts and the castle should too but the left of the park should be left alone to be honest, and I think Christmas is the only holiday that works at any Disney Resort

Re: Christmas Comes (Too) Early

I love Christmas but I have to say that the Halloween events at DLP attracted me more. Christmas is everywhere between November and the end of the year, at least a large-scale Halloween celebration is pretty unusual.

Re: Christmas Comes (Too) Early

But also hideously ugly! I get sick to the stomach when I see any Main Street decked out in awful garish decorations, peeing all over a turn-of-the-century quaint town

I agree it wouldn't hurt to change the Mickey Wonderland stage show or add a new christmas soundtrack to Fantaillusion. Small changes that wouldn't cost the earth either. But would be enough to give guest something fresh.
