Adventureland Rocks No More!

Over at DLRP Today they have a report on Adventureland's rocking rock being brought to a stand-still.

http://www.dlrpmagic.com/today/2008/...plus/#more-975

It's sad that DLRP saw fit to put a stop to this fun "easter egg" and there may be a valid reason behind it, but look at how they did it!

No attempt to theme or hide the concrete support - awful!

Now, plastic flowers on Main St I can live with , but I sincerely hope this concrete lump is temporary.
Very disappointing as DLRP Adventureland is one the best themed areas in any Disney park.

Thanks for posting the pic Zarniwoop - I would have done it myself, but didn't want to risk upsetting the Micechat gods and the Photosmagiques guys.
You're a braver man than I, and I thank you!

Oh, they're all gods.

Well, this is obviously sad, but to be honest it doesn't come as a surprise. The rock was even gone(?) once in the early 2000s and caused a minor Internet frenzy. Or was it rendered similarly immovable? I don't remember.

What I'm wondering, though, is if the rumors of a Pirates-themed Adventure Isle are true, what are they planning to do with this? And, surely they would have cleaned the thing if they weren't planning to return to it soon?

Somebody's got to do it. ;-) As I live on a far corner of the Globe I feel pretty safe here. And the credit/source is mentioned.

Re: Adventureland Rocks No More!

Yes, that was a bad news. I wonder if there's been an accident or something?
