But, in 2005, it was May 5, for the convenience of 05/05/05 for the 50 50 50, and that "year" was celebrated for 15 months (or longer by some) - making it all even more confusing!
Is this how Knott's is able to get away with calling themselves America's First Theme Park?
But didn't all the DisneyParksŪ open at the same time? ;)
You're all wrong, Walt Disney World came first.
;)
to quote the words of luna lovegood, " A circle has no beginning". so they all came first?
What's the anniversary day of when Walt conceived the idea for Disneyland.... that's what I want to know. :p
Will Darkbeer ever reply? Such a good plot line.
Wow, excellent post back there Steve. You said it really well.
For me, it's always the 17th. It doesn't matter if you are born on the 17th but not officially introduced to the public until the 18th, you were still born on the 18th.
If we're going to be all anthropomorphic here, then Disneyland was conceived on the 24th of July 1954 (beginning of construction), though it's parents obviously thought about having a kid a bit before that. And as far as theme parks go, it had a fairly quick gestation period of just shy of a year. It had a rough first day and wasn't presented to the public officially until the 18th of July 1955, just one day after doctors delivered the beautiful child.
