Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

Here are 10 questions that I came up with about park rides. Feel free to answer each one, or just pick one and answer that. Come back as often as you like to comment or answer another of these 10 questions.

Perhaps you can also come up with a good question of your own.

    1. What ride is scary, but you ride it anyway?

    2. What ride will you never ride under any circumstances?

    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?

    4. What ride is a total waste of time?

    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?

    6. What ride is romantic?

    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?

    8. What ride is your favorite?

    9. What ride do you wish they would bring back?

    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

I will start with the first question. I always get a little scared while standing in line for Splash Mountain. However, I ride it, and I always am glad I have.

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

    1. What ride is scary), but you ride it anyway?
    Haunted Mansion.

    2. What ride will you never ride under any circumstances?
Well, I've already ridden every ride, but what ride will I not ride again? The Swinging Gondola's on the Sun Wheel. I rode it twice, and never ever again.

    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?
Um...those rockets in front of Tomorrowland. I adore flying!

    4. What ride is a total waste of time?
Frances's Boogie Woogie or whatever that's called in Bugsland. No, just...no.

    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?
    Space Mountain!

    6. What ride is romantic?
I wouldn't know. I guess Peter Pan could be. Or the Matterhorn.

    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?
Maliboomer. I wasn't afraid of it persay, but I sure had the jitters!

    8. What ride is your favorite?
I don't have a favorite! I love them ALL! Space Mountain is on the top of the list, though!

    9. What ride do you wish they would bring back?
Being a child of the 90's and not having really visited the park until just recently, there isn't much I'd like to see that isn't there anymore. Well, I guess Mr. Lincoln, but he's coming back anyway, right?

    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?
There isn't any one ride...each trip is different, and ride choices vary on who I'm with and what area we want to focus on, but I guess I would have to say Space Mountain.

...and just a little bit of pixie dust!

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?: Haha, all the Fantasyland rides! There is no such thing as a kiddie ride in Disneyland; we're all kids there!

    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?: Omgoodness, like, all of them?! Haha. Especially Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, California Screamin', Soarin' and Tower of Terror.

    6. What ride is romantic?: Peter Pan's Flight, awww.

    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?: Tower of Terror!

    8. What ride is your favorite?: It's hard to choose. Definitely Tower of Terror haha! Splash/Space Mountain come in a close second.

    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?: Depends what park we are in. DL = Splash Mt, DCA = Tower of Terror

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

    1. What ride is scary, but you ride it anyway?

At Disneyland? None. I might get a little jittery before ToT, but I've got a smile on my face.

    2. What ride will you never ride under any circumstances?

MaliBOOMer. Extreme downward "g-forces" (e.g. the upward acceleration when you get to the bottom of the drop) tend to make my stomach hurt, unfortunately. Otherwise, I'd ride and probably have a great time.

    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?

If I don't have a family or group of friends in toe, I might go for a spin on a Fantasyland dark ride. Still waiting for the Peter Pan line to be short enough...

    4. What ride is a total waste of time?

Hmmmm...I haven't been on the canoes, but I can't imagine myself enjoying them much. Oh, Mulholland Madness is aggravating and not entertaining for me.

    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?

Space Mountain! Three times in a row does not get old, provided the line is short enough. Indiana Jones is also very repeatable.

    6. What ride is romantic?

Hmmm...I've never been to Disneyland with a significant other. The circumstances just haven't worked out yet. But I'd have to say that it's what you do between the rides that's romantic. (I don't mean that in a dirty way! ) A nighttime stroll across the castle drawbridge...a quiet breather in the Courtyard of Angels...stuff like that.

    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?

The Matterhorn. Good ol' Harold freaked me out when I was a kid, loath as I was to admit it. Now I love the ride, though I wish I were still as surprised by the abominable snowman's appearances as I used to be.

    8. What ride is your favorite?

Don't got a single favorite. Indy, Space Mountain, Pirates, HM, Big Thunder...those are the real power players for me, but I couldn't pick a favorite. That being said, if I could pick just one to ride right now, I'd pick Indy without hesitation.

    9. What ride do you wish they would bring back?

Rocket Rods. I know, I know, insert angry villagers emoticon here. It's just that I don't have strong memories of most of the removed Disneyland attractions, but I did ride the Rocket Rods once during a particularly nostalgia-laden visit, so I kinda miss them now.

    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?

Space Mountain or Indy. Hit 'em while the lines are short, since both are pretty much non-negotiable favorites for me. Gotta ride 'em at least once during a visit.

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

    1. What ride is scary, but you ride it anyway?
I ride the Matterhorn, which is a fun ride, don't get me wrong, but it's very rough, as most of you know. I have 2 steel rods in my back, so the roughness gets pretty hard on my back and makes it hurt. For that, it's become a little scary for me, in terms of "pain"... but I still ride it hehe.
    2. What ride will you never ride under any circumstances?
Maliboomer. Scared of heights + tall, free-fall ride= SCARY! Period.
    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?
I like to go on Mr. Toad.... it's fun to pretend to drive the cars, and Hell feels really good on a cold night!
    4. What ride is a total waste of time?
Most or all the rides in A Bug's Land... they're good for little ones, but not for me.
    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?
Indy for sure! I get really into it when I'm driving, and I have my Indy hat, so I love doing that on the ride!
    6. What ride is romantic?
The only romantic thing I've really done on a ride was on Pirates... I put my arm around the girl I was with, and then we held hands afterwards...
    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?
I've been afraid of alot of the rides... I was afraid of Space Mt., Splash Mt., Screamin', Haunted Mansion, and even Soarin' (on account of my fear of heights). Now, I like them all!
    8. What ride is your favorite?
Indy all the way! It's the best ride ever! Coming in at a close second is pretty much every other Disneyland ride in the park.
    9. What ride do you wish they would bring back?
I'd like them to bring back the Tomorrowland attractions of old... including the old subs. I'd love to ride ATIS, Rocket to the Moon, Mission to Mars, Carousel of Progress & America Sings, Circle Vision 360, the People Mover, and the old sub attraction... including the Sea Wolf!
    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?
Space Mt. is usually the first ride of the day. I usually have a routine that starts with Space Mt. and usually travels to Matterhorn, through Fantasyland, on to BTMRR, and so on... so Space Mt. usually ends up being the first ride of the day and the last ride as well because it's a good ride to end on.

Re: Riding the Rides - Some Questions to ponder.

    1. What ride is scary, but you ride it anyway?
Sun Wheel, I just don't do heights while locked in a small cage real well. But the kids and wife like it so I go with them.

    2. What ride will you never ride under any circumstances?
None come to mind although there are some that if I never rode them again I wouldn't care.

    3. What ride is a Kiddie Ride, but you get in line anyway?
    All of the Fantasyland rides.

    4. What ride is a total waste of time?
    Anything in Flik's Fun Fair.

    5. What ride is just plain fun, and you ride it over, and over again?
    Space Mountain and ToT.

    6. What ride is romantic?
Adventures through Inner Space. A night ride on the Mark Twain or the DLRR if there aren't many people riding.

    7. What ride were you afraid of, and now you love it?
Probably Maliboomer until I got the guts up to actually ride it.

    8. What ride is your favorite?
Probably ToT for personal reasons. It had just opened at MGM when we honeymooned there and we just fell in love with it so it became something we are both fond of doing.

    9. What ride do you wish they would bring back?
    America Sings

    10. What ride is the first one that you always run to?
Space Mountain then other biggies that will become packed later in the day.
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.

I don't do too many roller coasters, so I'd have to say California Screamin. I can't imagine going upside down on a roller coaster. Of course, there's also Tower of Terror. I don't think I'd ever ride that. ALso, because I heard there are creepy crawly things on Indiana Jones, that one also.
