Re: tower hotel....so boring...

Welcome to MiceChat! Now, I can't verify how correct this is, but Wikipedia claims that the design was originally created for the Paris resort, but plans got put on hold and they decided to additionally build it at DCA in the mean time. That doesn't really answer your question, though. I dunno why they used the same design, but I don't think it's that huge a crime. All the ToT designs look pretty great to me, with a lot of similarities anyway. It's cool to have different designs to encourage guests to visit multiple resorts, but it's also cool to offer a desirable experience that'd otherwise require a long trip to attain.

Actually, if you look carefully all of the Towers, except Florida, are the same. The one in Tokyo is simply gussied up on the outside differently. But if you look at its shape, it is the same.

Possibly lack of space, and definitely lack of budget. Rumor had it that they were trying to add the cheapest possible E-ticket, so that's what we got.

Amazingly, from what I understand, the honor of most expensive Tower of Terror does not go to Tokyo DisneySea. That honor apparently goes to Walt Disney Studio Park, but cheapest still goes to Disney's California Adventure.

Re: tower hotel....so boring...

Personally I like the outside design of DCA's the best. To me its more elegant that the original ToT in WDW. But the ride in WDW is SO FAR SUPERIOR. I know they were trying to double capacity and everything, but the overall show is not as good!

Nah. WDW's is actually smaller than DCA's (2 elevator shafts compared to 3).

Re: tower hotel....so boring...

WDW's TOT was probably more expensive than TDS because of the complicated ride system, which is far more superior to TDS's ride system.
