I have to agree with Sunnygirl - went yesterday as well and was shocked at how uncrowded it felt for a summer night. We got there at about 4 and stayed until closing, and had no longer than an hour wait for Space Mountain. Good times!
One take: Most everyone who planned a summer vacation involving DL has already come and gone.
The SoCal and Select APs have already returned (BEWARE, dshimel!). I would have expected slightly larger crowds this week. Still, it's weekday, end of summer.

Disneyland was orignally supposed to close at 10pm during the week this week, but since it's been so busy all summer, they extended that to 12 midnight. So this is the last week the park will be open that late all week. So maybe this week will still be busy, but not as bad as it has been all summer. Next week, Disneyland closes at 10pm Monday - Thursday, with the fireworks still going all week and one showing of Fantasmic! at 9pm.
It wasn't bad at all. I take my 2 year old with me, so we don't get to do any of the fun rides, and rarely stay until midnight. Usually we do fireworks, and then sometimes Fantasmic.
The only thing that I would have changed about today was that it was so HOT! We ended up only staying for a few hours and heading home, because it was just really hot and not worth it. But in 3-4 hours, we went to DCA and saw the Playhouse Disney show and Muppetvision, saw Mickey and Cinderella, and then headed over to DL, hit most of the Fantasyland Rides, then went on IASW and rode the train around the park once. So not too bad at all.
I think the crowds have been letting up since most colleges are back in session as well as some schools, so some people's vacations are already over. I'm leaving in approximately six hours, which means I should be there in about six hours, twenty minutes. Better not be crowded!
my community college started this week and one of the high school districts started this week. next week will be even less crowded while the rest of the high schools go back in session and im pretty sure a few more colleges. i know san diego is in session starting next week and USC allready started.
