    The Celebrity Name Game.

Someone names a famous person: Walt Disney
the other person then gives a name of someone whose first name begins with the first letter of the last name: Don Knotts
    And so on.

My daughter is 12 and learned this game from her grandparents. Her go to names are: Sandy Duncan, Soupy Sales, Rip Torn, Diana Ross.

This cracks me up everytime we play. She admittedly has no idea who any of these people are.

Usually, I just chat with my friends (sometimes guests in line with us as well).

With two specific friends I have, when we run out of stuff to talk about, we play our own special Disney alphabet game. What we do is go around in a circle; first person starts with the letter "A" and for example might say "Aurora" - then the second person has to say "Aurora" and then say something Disney-related with a B, and so on and so forth. Really helps to pass the time.

I'm a fan of reading. Since I'm not a fan of socializing with strangers. Not my strong suit.

Right now I'm reading "Cannery Row" by John Steinbeck. Charming book. And the pocketbook version is very useful when standing in line.

Bust out the cell phone, play games on there. Hand slap with my brother, talk.

    Or stand there in silence....

What other fun things do you do in lines or what kind of fun conversations do you get into?
I know I have met many very interesting people in lines. (that is the great thing about waiting in lines is the intereting people that you can talk to!)
Agreed! Especially if you are in the line by your self, there are always very interesting people to meet. I tend to look around, take in the sights, and maybe send some picture messages to my friends that couldn't make it. Other times, I will call my brother, The Cos, and hold the phone out to catch some of the attraction sounds. I figure it is the next best thing to being there, right?!

I have a time limit for a line that I will even get into and that's about 20 minutes. There's not much that I want to ride that I will wait longer than that. Usually a 20 minute line will go pretty quickly, and I end up talking to who I am with or strangers. People are usually bonded pretty quickly waiting in a line for an attraction.

If I'm with my son, I'm busy keeping him entertained in line by talking about his favorite Disney characters or we'll play with his little Disney toys (Cars, figurines, etc...). If I'm with my friends or family, we usually talk about current events or catch up.

my family does that game too! but our's is a little bit different.
you go in alphabetical order and you give a name that starts with A, a place that starts with A, and something you sell that starts with A.
so, A my name is Ariel, I come from Atlantica, and I sell anemones.
it doesn't have to fit together perfectly like in the movie, but it makes it more fun!
you wouldn't believe how difficult it gets when you get to the letter X! my family cheats and says that we are "by the railroad(you know, railroad x-ing?)" for that one lol

Don't worry, this gal isn't straightforward about asking random guys for their numbers in random places. 'Sides, aren't guys usually supposed to make the first move? I use the previous sentence and terms lightly.

Re: Favorite thing to do in long line

I usually just stand around in think. I know, pretty boring, isn't it? I think about what rides to go on next and what I should buy at the gift shops. I will also take pictures of Disneyland land marks if they are visible from the line. When I was in line for Indiana Jones this summer I took some pictures of the snake statues and the temple. When I was in line for Space Mountain I took some pictures of the Matterhorn. I'm not a big fan of starting a random conversation with someone in line, unless it is a member of my family. I hate it when some random person starts talking to you (unless it is a cute girl ). But if someone does start a conversation I talk with them, just because I'm a nice person.
