Re: Favorite thing to do in long line

I bring a game boy (original) or a DS lite, but I usually just listen to my ipod. I always pick a song that is relevant to the year the attraction opened. If I were in line for Splash Mountain, I'm going to listen to some music from '89 (Paula Abdul or NKOTB anyone?). If I'm in line for Indy, I listen to some of my favorite tunes from 1995, and so on and so forth. I don't think anybody besides me will ever think that sort of thing matters but there you go. That's what I do to stay occupied; I go back in time.

DS and iPod are always constant companions, but when I have more energy, I play games with whoever I'm with. Six degrees is always fun. Sometimes we also like to invent stories about other people waiting in line. I also like to...dazzle my travel mates with my Disneyland intellect.

We sometimes get into Six Degrees of Star Trek

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I always do a double take when I see someone with an Ipod or a Gameboy and think "seriously?!!!?"

But maybe that's just me. I won't even talk on the phone while I'm at the parks unless I'm trying to meet up with someone.

    I usually people watch..

If there is an interesting party in front of me.. or behind me.. I usually try to inconspicously watch them.. cuz they unknowingly are entertaining me with their pointless banter and random conversation..

Last time my bf and I were there.. we were trying to figure out if the pair behind us were on their first date or not.. and then we ended up spending the rest of the time in line reminicing our first disneyland date..

Things to do while waiting in line

Over the years my son and I have come up with some various "games" to pass the time while waiting in line. A version of 20 questions. Person, place or thing? Animal, vegetable, mineral? Famous? Know them/it, been there/met them? etc. Then there is rock, paper, scissors.

Lines can seem to last forever, especially for the youngers kids (3-11)

What ways have you come up with to pass the time in lines?

Besides my IPOD I like to play a game I like to call catching up with my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I don't see much of each other (even though we live together) due to work schedules and after work activates that we both have. We only really get to see each other on Sundays and on Sundays we go to Disneyland. Waiting in line is where we catch up on what we did the previous week. I really enjoy our game of catching up. It makes the lines go by pretty fast.

We always end up talking about previous trips to the park. "Remember the time the Matterhorn line had no people in it? And it was August?"
