![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? All I am going to say is that The Track is still there. The original plans for the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters called for the removal of that section of the Peoplemover track. The WDI project manager on that attraction said that it would be removed "Over his dead body." Therefore, there are plans to utilize that track. As far as I know, a primary financial analysis has been completed on a Peoplemover type ride, but we may not see much happening until after the Subs are open in 2007. The 1967 Peoplemover cars were not destroyed; they were sold off, mainly for parts, so Disney no longer has the trains. Five cars remain on Resort property. Three rest outside of the TDA building, one is on the other side of the TDA building (used as a smoking area), while the last one rests suspended inside of the Eat Ticket, the restaurant that TDA execs use regularly. Who knows? We may hear about the plans for a new Peoplemover in 2007, forty years after the initial opening of the original Peoplemover. Don't quote me on that, though. |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? I was wondering if they salvaged that part of the Peoplemover track in the Buzz building. If anything, that sounds promising. If they ever plan to introduce another attraction on the Tracks, they'll need a complete circuit. |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? Bumping a kind of old thread, yeah, they kept the track inside Buzz. It's a good sign for the future, but I'd say the long term future, around 2010, is when we'd get a new PM. |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? The Subs are their priority in Tomorrowland now, with Space Mountain done and open. I also don't think we will see any kind of construction for a new PeopleMover until late 2006 or so, when the Subs near completion. Few of the many trees that are pretty much eating the track, lol, have been cut back. When you take a ride on the Monorail, there are TONS of work to do with those trees before much of anything can be done with the track back in that area of Tomorrowland. The only thing I can see them doing with that track is Tomorrowland Transit Authority, and that's OK by me. It's still a PeopleMover! The future of Tomorrowland looks great to me, with classic attractions returning just in this decade, Space Mountain and Submarine Voyage. I wouldn't really call a new PeopleMover a return, as it won't be the same ride. As mentioned before, only 1.25 PeopleMover trains reside on Disneyland property. Would've been 1.75 when Rocket Rods was open. ![]() After PeopleMover, hopefully they will find something to do with Innoventions. |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? Disney should create a new ride cue for the people mover above the starcade, it empty and dirty and you can see in it while on waiting for Space Mountain.

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? The PeopleMover does not need a queue! It's a constantly moving attraction with a huge hourly capacity. Although I did have to wait about 10 minutes for TTA at the Magic Kingdom last year. I went on TTA 16 times, lol, but it just wasn't the same... |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? A new loading area, a new future entrance, and the people mover gets a new home. With the people mover above the star cade, it leaves room for the astroblaster to be put back on the top and room for a new queue on the old people mover loading area.

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? I would hate to see a new queue built for a new PeopleMover. After that initial launch it will never be some huge massive must do that thousands will be jammed with people. Any new queue would look like Six Flags where they make a huge queue but after the first year it is never used to capacity. A new queue area would also kill the purpose of the old platform. Why are you travelling down the middle of the entranceway only to turn right back around. The platform not only gives a great view but also gives a sense of returning. |

![]() | Re: Peoplemover updates...? I just thought of something. I am watching a video of the PeopleMover on my Extinct Attraction Club DVD, and upon entering Space Mountain, I realized: In the new PeopleMover/TTA, the tunnel should have effects, since nobody's gonna want to look inside an empty upper level of Starcade, so they can do space effects in the daytime, and make it look like the TTA is taking you to a rock concert at night, to keep in theme with Rock It Mountain! I thought it would be a great idea, and if Disney is planning to do a PeopleMover/TTA and is planning to make that tunnel explain how you got in space, this is a great way to do it! |
