Frontierland is beginning to carry items specific to land

If you enter the Bonanza store in Frontierland, you will notice that they are beginning to carry merch that is land specific and is also very unique and not part of the average stuff.

Some of the items include native american style pottery, other native american style gifts, cowboy hats, and other cowboy related merch NOT from the Disneyland merchandise department.

    I'll have pics later.

Could this be a new move to more land specific items??

I hope so too. I don't fault Dis if they're really making a lot more money by selling the generic stuff, but it's hard to believe they really do and it's at such a loss to the guest experience. I'm sure the profit margins are higher, but are they actually making more? Maybe they've finally figured out that Pressler was wrong about that too. Pretty sad if he doesn't even know what he's doing in regard to his supposed specialty.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I hope its a step in the right direction! Its annoying seeing the same stuff everywhere. Even if you have to hunt to find it, thats all part of the fun.

Not to burst any bubbles but are we sure this is new merch? I seem to remember some of the items mentioned being there for a while now... Also some portions of Baazar still have area specific merch (masks and what not)... but it is nothing like what it was.

The general, homogenous merchandise was boring. I like having things only available in different shops- it gives me incentive to actually go in all of them! If it's all available on Main Street, what's the fun? I can just go once on my way out (or hit WoD) and call it good. Shut down all the other shops if it's all the same stuff.

However, if each land has its own merchandise? Cool!

Whoop-De-Doo! They've done this in the past. I'd love to see site-specific goods for sale. I gotta say my Carved Coconut Monkey Windchimes, bought in Adventure Land would like a little company. And years ago they sold straw pith helmets for the ladies with mouse ears and lace ala Kenya circa 1920. It's great to get souvenirs that are just a little different and not everyone "back home" has!
