    Merchandise Disneyland Should Sell...

With all the best park related merchandise getting released to the Disney Catalog and disneydirect.com what does that leave that's exclusive to Disneyland itself? In the hopes that some DL Marketing exec will read this and see what we, the park's loyal patrons, want to (and in some cases need to) buy I've taken the liberty of starting this thread to give the folks in marketing a heads up. Here's a list of some things I'd like to buy:

-Pirates of the Caribbean Action Figures
Not Johnny Depp or Mickey Mouse I want the real deal. Park exclusive figures based on all the characters in the ride.

    -DisneyLegoLand
Legos (or an appropriate rip-off) based on all the attractions in the park.

    -Attraction specific DVDs
Newly produced and archived footage combined in slick way. The old park specials collected into one set would be great too. (Disneyland's 25th with Danny Kaye - My personal favorite)

-Ceramic Figurines for Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Indy, Star Tours, Matterhorn, Etc.
For the more upscale collector. Featuring both characters and locations from these and other great attractions.

-Anything that says "Indiana Jones" that they haven't made yet.

If we don't ask for it they won't make it. So, here it is. I'm asking for it.

    Re: Merchandise Disneyland Should Sell...

    Ahoy all,

I always wanted a book based on the Haunted Mansion overlay in the HM. Sometimes they change things. And since one can't really take photos on the ride, it'd be nice to have photos in a book! I know they had the Scarols book. But one could download that stuff from the DL AP page a few years ago. I did.

And being a pin trader and big HM fan(yeah, Pirates too) I am waiting for a pin of the singing busts in the HM. They are my favorite part, even more now that Thurl Ravenscroft is dead. At least we can still "see" and hear him in the HM and Pirates.

And anything to do with the old tickets. So far I just have pins and I traded for that big ticket book that they gave out on one of the tours.

That's all I can think of now. But I'm sure more will come.

    Thanks,
    Aprille :-)

I would love this! If Disney would produce the DVDs instead of leaving that to others, they could be fantastic.

I'd love more music compilations from old and current attractions as well, to supplement the Musical history set. We got some great stuff when the Disneyland Forever and WDW Forever kiosks were out there.

I think they should do back to school supplies with different characters. Folders, notebooks, pencils, backpacks, composition notebooks, glue, good crayons, pencil boxes. Stuff like that. I know there is some stuff in the park but a whole section would be great.

    Re: Merchandise Disneyland Should Sell...

There should defintely be a whole lot more merchandise based on the "classics". More t-shirts, and shot glasses (errr, tooth pick holders) and key chains. Especially with the recent SM refurb, they should've at least had a whole lot of merchandise for that event, kind of weird that they didn't. I remember back in the days that Splash came out, they had a butt load of merch, same with Indy and TOT for that matter.

So yeah, more merch for SM, Pirates, HM, Matterhorn (Abominal Snowman action figure anyone?) and Thunder Mountain.

Hell, I'd love to see an action figure line based on Disney Characters and park attractions. Would defintely by creative at least to see the above mentioned snow man, Hitchhiking Ghosts, Auctioneer Pirate and TOT bell hop. They would be packed with mini Mickey, Donald, Goofy etc. figures. Add Matterhorn and Big Thunder models to the collection and you have a great action figure line.

I like the part in the 50th movie when Steve Martin says there used to be a brassiere store on Main Street. I don't think I'd buy a bra in DL, but I do like that one small section in the store on Main St. that has good looking PJ's for women. The t-shirt and undies that have Stitch and Jessica Rabbitt are a really good design with the logo on the front of the shirt and across the butt, but I'm waiting to see if they'll design a set with my favorite character before I settle for Stitch or Jessica.

DVDs of all the Disneyland-related TV episodes from Disneyland/Walt Disney Presents/Wonderful World of Color etc.

View Master reels and viewer sets - - both classic 3-D views and new ones. This was once a staple.

Classic Attraction Poster t-shirts (black, thick weave, tight crew neck, please...).

Classic Disneyland logo (with castle icon) T-Shirt - - simple, retro - - no airbrush, raised letters, ugly characters, drop shadows, design frou-frous, mod graphics or other ugly current marketing clutter.

Book with large repros of all Attraction Posters.

    More Wonderland CD selections.

Fancy adult character costumes (drag queen sized).

The parks need more Donald Duck merchandise, dagnabbit. Not Donald with four of his closest friends. Not happy, smiling Donald. Not bizarro 3D Donald. I'm talking angry, spitting, hopping-on-one-foot-swearing-at-the-world Donald, because that's the best Donald there is.

i think they need to upgrade there merchandise in quality. Not neccesarily disneyland but the disney company. I dont want to see mickey on paper towels. Disney and most other big companies are too quick to put their brand on everything, it cheap'ns the company's look in my opinion. I want to see limited edition stuff more often... (I think thats an oxymoron or something) I mean everyone already knows the disney brand, I don't think they need to be on crayons.

Now that is something I could get behind.
How about a LARGE coffee table book that featured the amazing artwork of all of the different attraction posters that Disneyland has had over the years, morphed together with the chronological history and back-stories of "The Nickel Tour".
That would be a VERY COOL book, indeed!!

    Re: Merchandise Disneyland Should Sell...

I'm all for the Nickel Tour quality book.

I'd also like to see more blank notecards of the Disney attraction
posters. I had 2 sets of these about 5 years ago... but I'm not
sure they ever made more. They were arranged like 5 attractions
(4 cards each = 20 total cards) arranged by land.

They also had mechanical drawings of the tomorrowland rides
    which were nice...

BUT, other than Tiki, Splash, HM and Pirates stuff which I'd
definitely love more of... in addition to Jungle Cruise...

    MORE magnets from attractions

AND for the love of God! I want AN ADULT SIZE PLUTO SHIRT!
Luckily I can fit into an XL boys shirt (fits like a baby doll shirt)
but I'd like an embroidered Pluto shirt in adult sizes! I've only
ever found ONE and it was screen printed and didn't last very
    long!

Also, more pins - WITHOUT the horrible blue alien! I was disappointed
to see him on the Magical Milestones attraction pins! Also
the AP with him as Tink... which I like to term "Stink!" Please
    lay off the Stitch pins!!!

You and me both, sister! I wish they'd release more Disneyland-related pins, in addition to more attraction pins.
