What will become of the Dream Suite

after the YOAMD is over??? I'm so sorry if this has been discussed before, I was just going to go to sleep and this thought crossed my mind...what's gonna happen to it?? Are people still going to win a stay in it every night and be the grand marshall of the parade??? I sure hope so!!!

Re: What will become of the Dream Suite

If I had to guess, it'll become Disney's $1 Million/night celebrity money-grab.

Re: What will become of the Dream Suite

Yeah, I'm betting C List celebrities/trashy West LA drug users will camp out there for the night at obscene nightly rates. And when they get a legit B or A List celebrity that wants to stay there, then Disney will foot the bill and put up the group there with obligatory press photos taken as part of the deal. Perhaps they'll use the space as a reception or party area for top VIP's or government officials.

Otherwise, it will be the home of trashy drug fueled parties by D or C List celebrities and their hangers on that no one really cares about.

Re: What will become of the Dream Suite

I just want the gallery back!!!! Those ladies have been wonderful(especially Beverly!) to my family since i was a lil girl! I still remember sitting up in the balcony for the first time, before they were opening it to the public, my uncle write for the LA Daily and got us passes to sit up there for some kind of press event they were doing, can't remember if they offered the deserts then or not but ever since that's pretty much the only way we did Fantasmic after that! Everything was great food, service and view all superb. We tried doing the priority seating before and it was absoulutely nothing in comparison and the view wasn't even that great to be honest.. why can't they just bring back the gallery I know they put a million into this dumb thing but ..maybe we can jsut have a really nice looking gallery hahah It was SO great to walk around, enjoy the quiet!! ( for minute there you forget that Disneyland is right outside) Plus it was really cool to walk around knowing it was built for Walt himself, didn't it just warm your heart?? Ild give up almost anything in DL we have right now to have it back.. how about DCA lol

Re: What will become of the Dream Suite

To clear up one mis-conception - The Dream Suite is NOT given away every night of the year. I'm not sure the exact details, but I know that many nights it remains empty. DL Marketing makes you THINK that someone wins it every night..but that is not the case.

Any CM's have the exact data here?

This has been talked about quite a bit before the Dream Suite came into existence. I am a HUGE fan of it being the Disney Gallery.

The balcony was one of my top places to hang out and watch the world go by...what an awesome place it was.

Re: What will become of the Dream Suite

Maybe it will become a part of this VIP package announced earlier this year:

http://www.mickeynews.com/News/Displ..._Q_id_E_428VIP

Disneyland just raised the price of admission for the ultimate fan to $2,999.

Starting in April 2008, Adventures by Disney will offer a six-day vacation package that includes a backstage pass to many top-secret Disneyland locations plus exclusive access to several Los Angeles television and film studios.
Three-day Disneyland highlights:
  • Tour Walt Disney's private apartment above the fire station on Main Street, U.S.A. (watch video from Fresno ABC-TV affiliate).
  • Visit the exclusive Club 33 restaurant above New Orleans Square.
  • Travel aboard the private railroad parlor car the Lilly Belle.
  • Take a backstage tour of the parade-float warehouse and Circle D, where the theme park's animals are housed.
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Indiana Jones Adventure ride.
  • Behind-the-screen viewing of Soarin' Over California at California Adventure.
  • Ride Space Mountain with the lights on after the park closes.
  • Get reserved seats for Fantasmic and Aladdin.
  • Get unlimited FastPass tickets to most major rides and attractions.
Three-day Hollywood-area highlights:
  • Go backstage at "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
  • Meet a Muppeteer at Jim Henson's Creature Shop.
  • Take a tour of Walt Disney Imagineering.
The all-inclusive package runs $1,879 to $2,999 per person depending on the time of year. Hotel accommodations and most meals are included.

This is amazing that Disney actually spent all that money, time and work to build something that will only be used 266 times. They really should learn to spend money where it's needed and can be enjoyed by a much broader range of people.

Are we talking about the Dream Suite or Mr. Swab's pool parties?

Oh, and Mr. Swab, your post in this thread:
