What's Your "Going To The Park" Music Mix?

I live about an hour from Disneyland and was looking to make the perfect mix of songs to get me in the mood when I drive to the park.

Any suggestions? Looking for 60-80min of stuff. Either park music or film songs that remind me of specific park attractions. The hardest part - and this is where you can really be creative - is arranging the songs so the tracks flow together nicely.

Looking forward to hearing some creative ideas. Even if you can't think of an entire disc, any songs that flow nicely into each other would be appreciated.

We always start off our driving with "Dizz Knee Land" by Dada which we feel perfectly expresses the universal truth that no matter what you have just done, you can celebrate it at Disneyland. After that we play anything upbeat, up tempo. We've got many of the Ultimate Disney and Radio Disney CDs with the remixes that are really fun. Or we put on our in park music collection for our favorite rides.

I would say the perfect track to start your CD off with is how Disney usually starts their park soundtracks off with. The dedication ceremony speech that Walt Disney gave.

I was going to say that as well.

For me that's the audio clip to listen to as you're walking through the gates and on to Main St.

Re: What's Your "Going To The Park" Music Mix?

im trying to create a playlist for my trip too! but only mine's on the airplane
for mine- i have some songs that i really like that are not disney related, and throw some disney ones in sporatically.
some of the disney ones ive included:
Life is a Highway performed by Rascal Flatts from Cars
Disney Girls and California by the Beach Boys
That's How You Know performed by Amy Adams in Enchanted
Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid
What Time is It from High School Musical 2
Up Periscope by Drake Bell- kinda reminded me of the Nemo Subs
a Little April Shower remix by Renee Sandstrom
Reflection from Mulan
Superstition-song by Raven and appears in the haunted mansion movie, but i picked the Stevie Wonder version
You'll Be in My Heart- performed by Teddy Geiger (phil collins sang it in Tarzan)
High Hopes- it was in the Goofy Movie!

Re: What's Your "Going To The Park" Music Mix?

From my collection of Disneyland CDs which include some of those Disneyland Forever collections they used to sell at the park, I've made four or five different mix CDs over the past several years. Here's my latest compilation that I created about a month or two ago after the latest Official Album was released.

1. Dedication of Disneyland, July 17, 1955 - Walt Disney
2. Mickey Mouse Club March - Disneyland Band
3. Beautiful Beulah - Main Street, USA music loop
4. Minnie's Yoo Hoo - Main Street Saxophone Quartet
5. Disneyland Railroad Depot Departure Announcement
6. Swanee River - New Orleans Square
7. Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me) - Pirates of the Caribbean
8. Grim Grinning Ghosts - Haunted Mansion
9. All Aboard the Mine Train - Frontierland
10. Country Boy Medley - Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, The Golden Horseshoe
11. The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room - Enchanted Tiki Room
12. Once Upon a Dream - King Arthur's Carrousel
13. It's a Small World Clock Parade
14. "Remain Seated Please" - Matterhorn Bobsleds safety spiel
15. Space Mountain (2006 extended release)
16. Disneyland Railroad Depot Arrival Announcement
17. Fortuosity - Main Street, USA music loop
18. Maple Leaf Rag - Main Street Pianist
19. At the Happiest Place on Earth - Grand Marshall Pre-Parade
20. Welcome - Parade of Dreams
21. Remember Dreams Come True (post-2005 version)
22. Finale from Fantasmic!
23. Closing (extended version from "The Musical History of Disneyland")
24. When You Wish Upon a Star (from "Pinocchio")

Edited to add: Btw, thanks, mycroft16, for introducing "Dizz Knee Land" to me. Never heard it before, but I just bought it at iTunes!

Another one to listen to is "Beauty And The Beast." (Yes, that was a Celine reference. Go ahead - let the bashing begin. LOL)
