    trying out to be tinkerbell

    ok . . . so i wanted to know a couple things . . . maybe get some opinions/suggestions :

    1) what are the requirements to be tinkerbell (either the one in the parade or the one during fireworks)

    2) how hard would it be for me to get the position?

www.disneycareers.com would have casting information for parades.

The fireworks Tink requires acrobatics experience- I imagine you would have to have some circus experience to be qualified for that role

I would say don't hold your breath on the fireworks Tink- there are only a few people who can do it and they probably already cast them all.

As for a parade role, the best thing to do is to go to an audition and find out! They are currently casting for the Christmas fantasy parade.

I'd love to audition for the Christmas parade but every flippin time I go to the casting center I'm told they're not hiring minors. I'm beginning to hate Disney for this reason. It would make my dreams come true to be in the parade but I've been to the casting center 3 times for different reasons and I'm convinced unless a CM goes with me I have no chance.

Even if a CM comes with you, they don't hire minors as performers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you will have to wait

If you are at least 17, I believe they will hire you in foods or something and then when you turn 18, you can audition to pe a performer and you will just have to fill out the transfer paperwork.

It is like American Idol, but it sure doesn't hurt to try :-) The last audition I went to, there was at least 6 hundred people there. yikes.

aniko- check out this thread- a CM started it back in February when they were casting for Tink. This should give you an idea of the requirements.

Trying out for Tink is like American Idol, but it would be great to have a MiceChatter working in Disneyland as Tink. It'd be so cool to come to the meets and meet someone who plays Tink so they can wave at you and actually know who you are while they are playing Tinker Bell.

Also, I looked at Aniko's profile picture and she is very beautiful. That gives her an excellent shot at playing Tink since they are obviously looking for a very attractive young lady. Good luck, Aniko! I say go for it and please let us know what happens.

It says on the website that if you are 17 and a graduating senior that you can apply to be a character.

My nieces played Mickey and Fantasia Mickey at age 17. But that was also 5 years ago. Do they have a special set of "characters" for things like the Orange Grove Party? I know the kid playing "Young Davey Crockett" wasn't anywhere near 17. (He was maybe 12.)
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Uh huh sure try getting them to even look at your application if you're under 18. Disney hiring is JOKE!
