It took me so long to realize HISTA stood for Honey, I Shrunk The Audience.

And yeah, it needs to go.

Just keep in mind, with every attraction closed, the Disneyland capacity goes down (which I'm sure doesn't matter to most people, and is wonderful for some, but those of us who want to make it on New Years, it's not so great). Though the attraction isn't all that great, it doesn't do so bad on capacity I'm sure. I see people in the HISTA line all the time.

It's now a place to go when your feet are sore and you need to cool off. Would be great to see something really special in that spot.

True...but your question was if anyone would notice.
Did you know that 87% of spoken statistics are made up on the spot?

It's probably on its way out because WDW is finally getting its desperateley needed Imagination Refurb and HISTA is leaving there in the process. So having it close at DLR would make sense too.

Granted I haven't seen the HISTA show in quite some time, but when I did after New Years in 2007 the place was maybe 1/6th-1/8th full (might have been less, its been a while). Since then, every time I go on Space Mountain, it seems like maybe 30-40 people (max) are going in there. Does anyone know the actual hourly ride capacity for HISTA? (I could only find that the Paris version can run 600 people through every 20 minutes) Does it even pull in a thousand people a day? Any CM's out there that can answer that?

I used to know, but I totally forgot. The managers made us remember the ORHC.

Re: UNconfirmed rumor - HISTA to close after Labor Day

ok, I Love 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'. 'Honey, I Blew Up the Kid' is an actually great sequel. I love them. They are, with any hope, going to become classic family films. ('Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves': who really needed to tempt fate there? Dumb idea, went too far)

HISTA NEEDS TO GO!!! For the love of God! I've had enough! My family has had enough.

I walk by it and nearly scream, "Dear God, Michael, why did you have to start acting nuts?!?!?! Now we're ALL suffering!!!"
My aunt even said the last tiem I was there with her, "Despite everything, I would rather have Captain EO." It really was legendary.

HISTA is done. It was done like a year after it opened here in Anaheim. When I went to WDW, I understood it better and I liked it conceptually, but it's time has passed. That simple.

i kinda think that in Epcot, a Figment/Dreamfiner 3-D movie would be good. While I know it would be cost-effective to put the same movie in both places (or at least it seems that way, I may be wrong), but really, depending on what they do to the rest of the Imagination pavilion, they should figment it up a little more. But I'm partial to figment, so don't ask me.

Re: UNconfirmed rumor - HISTA to close after Labor Day

Ok, so I just have to say that though you all seem to hate the attraction, HISTA does quite well with the average guest. Those that haven't been to Disney, or those that don't go every day or week...month...whatever. I'm a Lead there, I know it's weaknesses, but sweeping generalizations that 'everyone' wants to see it go are just way out of line. Speak for yourself, don't speak for others.

Second note, it's not being taken out...yet. It will be eventually and when it does, hopefully it will be replaced with something unique and exciting. As I said before, the roof needs to be repaired, which is most likely what is going to happen.

    Forget Disney Magic...Universal performs MIRACLES!!!

I'm fairly sure that everyone (A) will agree that there are some people (B) who do speak for everyone (A), which is the only thing that everyone (C) have done in this thread. These some (B) may argue that everyone (A) shouldn't base their opinions on everyone (C) in this thread, but I think that everyone (A) should - after all, some people (D) are influenced by these things.

    A(D(B(C))))

In so many words, we love speaking in sweeping generalizations, everyone does.

Roofs that are open pedestrian decks are always big trouble to keep properly sealed. They didn't use the regular painted on Magnesite deck coating over the concrete, so it's going to be a big job to reseal it.

But that alone doesn't need to close down HISTA for long.
