    Vineyard Room to Close 8/31

At dinner last night we were informed by the manager that the Vineyard Room will be closing as of 8/31. Their chef, Gloria, is heading over to work at Napa Rose (her last day was Saturday). In my mind, it is a great loss for the resort. We had our special table, enjoyed the wines and great food. Truly sad.....

Why is she going to Napa? Is Chef Sutton leaving the Napa Rose (I hope not)? Or is this cost cutting for the upcoming construction on DCA? My wife and I really liked the Vineyard Room. Especially during the Electrical Parade. I wonder if it will re-open when the DCA overhaul is done?

She will be the #1 assistant to Andrew Sutton - one of his main chefs has left (or is leaving).

Oh NO! My hubby and I love that restaurant! We even thought about going there for dinner this past weekend. Guess we'll have to make another trip down there before August 31st!

    DUDE! THAT STINKS!

Love, love, love The Vineyard Room. The food was excellent, the service superb and the atmosphere was just perfect. And what better place to watch the Electrical Parade than the balcony of the Vineyard Room? *sigh* So sad... but I truly hope they replace it with something good and not crappy fast food. It would be an insult to the space to have subpar burgers and fries.......

Of course, this is coming from a Chef so you can safely assume that I am totally biased.

Do make a trip! The food is excellent and nothing beats the atmosphere... really felt as if you could be in the Wine Country on a warm and beautiful night... well almost as the electrical parade usually throws that off a bit.

If you're concerned about price, you could always ask about a tasting menu or just do drinks and appetizers. Hope you get to make it out there!!

For the moment, the Wine Country Trattoria will expand into where the Vineyard Room once was.

Meh... at least it won't be empty. Every time I've gone to the Trattoria my food comes to the table warm or lukewarm. I always wind up sending it back to be heated.

I too never had the chance to eat here. I have herd some good things about it though. I really hope that they at least replace it with another upscale dining experience.

The only time I ate there (for my college graduation), the service was horrible, the food took over two hours to get to our table and the staff could have cared less. I'm glad other people enjoyed it, but I haven't bothered to go there in over three years. Maybe they'll replace it with something a little less upscale...or extend the trattoria seating?

Terrible. All the times my parents and I have been to The Vineyard Room, it's been great. My mom feels that DCA isn't worth admission with all the losses in dining and soon when the park is filled with construction walls.
