    Golden Horseshoe VIP Booth Scrapbook

Recently, on another spontaneous, late night trip to DL with the family, the Dark Lady and her brother (The Dark Pinch) decided to take off on thier own while Mr. Mad Madame Momba and I went to buy a bottle of water in the Golden Horseshoe. Once inside, I noticed only one table was occupied, and there was only one very bored CM at the counter. I asked him if I might be able to sit in Walt's Box, and he very nicely replied, "Sure." After we sat down, I told my husband that this is where you get to sit and watch the show when you win a Dream prize. We found a very lovely scrapbook propped up on a music stand that was obviously meant for the Dream winners to look at. I knew this to be something that MCer's would be very interested in seeing, so we took photos of each page. At the end of this scrapbook were numerous pages filled with photos of each Dream winner. The last photo depicts the same view of the stage that Walt Disney himself would have seen when he and his guests were sitting in the opera box watching the show. Larger hi-res pics available upon request.

This last shot is the view from Walt's box.

How lucky for you to be able to sneak into Walt's box! Thanks for sharing. Personally, "winning" a prize like this and being able to sneak a peek into DL history is worth a lot more than a Dream FP.

THank you so much for sharing. I was there in the middle of July and got a "dream" of sitting in the front row for Billy Hill. There was a family sitting in the box. I could see there was a book on a stand and had wondered what it was. I am so glad that you took pictures so we could all see. THanks!!!

Was this the box on the bottom level on the right hand side if your facing the stage? If so, we sat in this box for a performance but it was before the YOAMD promotion and I never knew this was Walt's Box!!

Wow, didn't know that was a Dream prize only thing now. We sat in there without knowing anything about it 3 years ago (before my MiceChat days). We didn't even know there was a show about to happen. Was one of the best surprises and favorite memories of Disneyland to this day. Great photos and thanks for sharing!

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
