Yes, it would. C'mon, Disney, figure it out!

It wasn't lit, though. That was just light pollution from the 3rd lift projection.

I would have seen it, had I actually gone on the ride during soft openings, but no, I said, the line is too long.

They removed it because, during polls, some guest said, "What's that big glowey thing in Space?" They also justified taking it out because it was too bright.

The geodesic satellite was in the spot where the asteroid is now. It was made of hexagons and pentagons with sections of red. It was an enigma during my childhood.

There still is the galaxy projection for the 2nd lift effect, and it can be seen from some other parts of the ride.

I believe just during soft openings. Then they turned it off, but for a year it still spun in darkness. After that, they turned it completely off. It's just sitting there, but you can see it if you look. The closest view you will have is on the turn-around between second and third lifts, but I have to say the most stunning view in the attraction is unsees by most guests. If you look behind you ascending the third left, you will have a view of clean starfields, the galaxy projection, and the silhouette of the asteroid. It was even cooler when the asteroid was still moving.

Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

not sure what I think about the new cottage yet. I was expecting something similar to the beautiful building they built for edelweiss snacks. I'm guessing the roof was done to match the fantasyland theatre tent?

Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

For all of you who wish to see the current astroid, heres a picture I took when I got stuck on Space Mountain about two months ago.

You can just barely make it out here. Once you come out of the spinny tunnel thing and start to make the left turn in the main dome, the astroid is directly to your left. And honestly, it isn't that far away according to this picture!

Here's some more pics:

There's another one somewhere that clearly shows the red glow that's partially visible in this pic, but I can't find it for the life of me...

In other news, the Court des Anges has been renamed the "Court of Miracles". Boo.

I doubt that's permanent. I would chalk this up to marketing "guessing" the name, rather than actually figuring it out. Of course the best way to prove this would be pics of some old/new singage.

Or maybe they're talking about a complete different court.

Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

They are not, as Lutz's photo of the new Meet & Greet area is the same as the Court de Anges (if I'm not mistaken).

Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

Here's a video I found of Space Mountain post-ghost:

It looks like nothing really changed, but they forgot to switch some blue lights back to red on the first lift.

Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

Hey guys, random question.

I haven't been following Tiana's entrance to Disney very closely, but looking over some of the Storybook Land construction photos, do you think we'll be seeing the appearance of her home when the attraction re-opens shortly before the movie comes out? Seems like good timing for the refurb and addition of new royalty.

Don't know if it's been posted yet (tried searching the thread, but couldn't find anything), but seeing if anyone has heard of anything.

Good question indeed. I would think this would be a great time for an addition. Maybe Mama Odie home in the branches of the swamp trees.
