    Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

The Disneyland Story featuring "Great Moment with Mr. Lincoln" at the Main Street Opera House
Details: On February 25, Disney officially announced the long-promised return of "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" in a press release. The new show will combine the historical Disneyland exhibits from the "Disneyland: First 50 Magical Years" show with a new theater presentation of "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln." The rumored Barack Obama or George Washington additions will not happen.
Project Status: "Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years" closed March 16.
Open Date: Delayed from September 26, 2009. Opens December 17, 2009

I was informed by a CM on Sunday (12/6) that the theater is still gutted and is NOT expected to open in time, nor is any date projected for rededication.
First Visit at the age of 12, July 17, 1968.
First Ride, The Disneyland and Santa Fe Railroad.

Trust me, most CMs don't know what they are talking about, and me being one, I know! They all think they know something, and it always turns out to be completely false! I laugh at the rumor they sometimes hear!

This does seem a bit odd, but I wouldn't doubt if it did get delayed from its December 17th opening. When LaughingPlace interviewed Tony Baxter at the Princess and the Frog premier, he was saying that the opening might be delayed because they have never dealth with an AA figure this complex before so they want to test it a lot to make sure it is working perfectly.

I'd believe him of all people.

I also doubt the OC Register would have run that story and graphic on Mr. Lincoln (with quotes from the DL spokesman) if the opening was being delayed indefinitely.
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

Baxter is pretty up front with his expectations. Just as with the opening of the Castle Walk Thru last year, he wouldn't commit to an exact date. While Imagineering tries to take the time to do a project right, they get pressure from marketing to open earlier to fit their promotional marketing schedule. So, Baxter keeps his options open by NOT specifying a specific opening date.

    Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

Folks, regarding my original post, I know that not all CMs are in the 'loop' as it were, and many inadvertantly spread false information. I hear it all of the time. I only posted this here because it came from one source who I trust and has not steered me wrong in the past.
Obviously it is quite possible that the person I heard this from is incorrect. At this point the 17th is only a little over a week away, so we'll find out soon enough.
If it turns out my post was erroneous, I apologize, and so be it. I would LIKE to be incorrect on this one. I am looking forward to seeing the revamped Mr. Lioncoln, and having my daughter see the show for the first time.
As always, I hope for the best along with all readers of the board.

Better a delayed, great attraction than a mediocre, on time one.

The movies mainly appeal to little girls, but I still think they can be enjoyed by families alike. If a dark ride were to come about, I hope that Disney takes a family approach and not gear it towards children like Bugsland.
