![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker Luke, the point is that Disney can do what they feel like and they don't care about a bunch of fanboys' negative reaction. Of all the dark rides, Mr. Toad is the least relevant and since Disney is all about "Relevant" these days, should any dark ride be removed, it'll be Mr. Toad. Snow White and Pinocchio may not be the best, but they represent the beginning of Disney Animation, and Alice and Peter Pan are way too popular to scrap. While Toad may have long lines, it isn't as popular as the others nor as remembered as others.

not sure how stating sources will make a diference or not. with that said, it is not uncommon for disney to use words or phrases with multiple entertatinment ideas or to tie in certain promotional campaigns. oh and yes the working title for the parade is "World of Wonders"

It wouldn't even be enough room for a queue. its a small area with a tightly built queue for the small coaster

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker Mr. Toad may have historical significance, but that doesn't mean it's important to guests. Pinocchio is newer, and has better effects, so it's unlikely that it would be canned. Of all the dark rides, it's the least revered and the least relevant of the bunch. Since it seems the mentality for attractions nowadays is "If we can't sell plush, we can't sell the ride", Mr. Toad would likely be the first choice for removal should they need space for an attraction in Fantasyland. Providing they use up the Motor Boat Cruise land and Skyway area for something more than decor, of course.

Actually when ideas were thrown around for replacments the dark ride that was considered for closure was the newest which is Pinocchio second was Snow white. Both of those attractions do not receive the same guest clicks as Mr Toad, Peter Pan and Alice. Also the toad building is shared with the Alice attraction making it a little more dificult to just tear out and replace with something else. There is more room with the west end darkrides than the east end darkrides for expansion especially since a completely new attraction would need to be ADA compliant as well as have new safety requirements. These would force them to have wider queues, wider track layouts and more accesible emergency points. Notice how much wider the new darrides are. The older darkrides had scenery that almost touched the ride vehicles now they are set back quite a bit. One new darkride in California would most likely take up the room of two that exist now. taking out Toad to replace it with something completely new would require a lot more room. Unless it was only a retheme with little infrustructure change to help keep it from falling under new rules and regulations. Last edited by Baloo; 08-15-2008 at 03:07 PM.

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker i believe it was. IASW was a corproate sponsored attraction from the beginning built originally for the worlds fair and paid for by Pepsi i believe. It was basically a direct transplant from the fair to the park. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker yes it is i just forgot to mention it. ALice and toad though share some of the same building space. One of the reasons WDI got creative and built ALice as a dual level attraction. it minimized the space needed |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker Opening Vault 28-style merch in Disneyland itself? Bad idea. Disney doesn't need to be in the build-a-whore business. It's bad enough there's a Libby Lu in DTD. |
