![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker It's too early to know what is planned for the 60th. The 55th is the closest major anniversary, and if the rumors online are true, we'll be seeing a major new parade at Disneyland along with a possible new fireworks show, and DCA's new World of Color show will be tied into the 55th marketing campaign. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker I talked to a monorail pilot last night who said that orange is scheduled to be out in a month, possibly 2. They removed blue from the line to use its parts to get Orange running. I'm gussing this is late news, but thought maybe the original entry should be updated to reflect this.

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker They have finished a major stretch of the Big Thunder Trail repaving which I got to see today. I am thrilled to see that they themed the paving like the entrance to Frontierland! It looks like dried mud with carriage tracks, footprints, and horseshoe prints, etc. I have to say that the smooth concrete always bugged me since it did not look like it belonged at all. Now I'm wondering if when they finish there are they going to continue this down into Frontierland where the McDonald's french fry cart used to be? I sure hope so. It's going to look great back there, but walking into Frontierland from Fantasyland you'll get the great themed paving until the bridge by the pond, then switch back to smooth non themed concrete past BTM, then back to themed paving after the landing for the Mark Twain. I know Al posted at one point that the area where the fry shack was is supposed to get a fruit stand. Hopefully, they'll take care of the paving in that area at the same time. I have to say that overall, I like the fact that Disney seems to be paying attension to the small details again. It bodes well for the furture. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker Well, they have always done something every 5th anniversary as far as I can remember, so they'll probably never change that.

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker That's a good point. Simply celebrating the 55th anniversary is a much better marketing tool than ridiculous campaigns like year of a million dreams and What will you celebrate? I think it sort of cheapens the image of Disneyland to have those marketing campaigns which are so CLEARLY marketing campaigns. Nothing subtle about them. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Project Tracker The powers that be don't seem to understand that the park sells itself so there's little need for a slick marketing campaign.... and little need for all those marketing "specialists." Cutting them would be a nice cost savings with no impact on the park experience... it would actually be a positive impact. |
