    Major Rivers of America refurbishment
Details: Major Rivers of America refurb, resulting in a hiatus for Fantasmic! and a closed Tom Sawyer Island, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Mark Twain Riverboat
Project Status: Drained and closed during winter and spring 2010.

Drained and closed during winter and spring 2010 ... do you think it would be drained in December 2009, or would they be waiting for the slower season early on in 2010?

I recently heard a rumor that they were testing out a ground layer fog effect in Haunted Mansion in the door hallway. Has anyone else heard this cause it definitely sounds like a cool idea.

Many thanks, MasterGracey. I'm going in mid December and now I feel more confident about not having an empty "moat" while we're there.

    Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

Updated the Astro Orbitor entry and added a Cosmic Waves entry since that project will take a few months to finish up.

    Astro Orbitor - Major refurbishment
Details: The Astro Orbitor is scheduled for a major refurbishment March-June 2009, which will include repainting the attraction in a blue-and-silver color scheme and maintenance on the broken spinning planets. David "Darkbeer" Michael reported on 2/6 that the attraction may be too costly to repair and Disney is now considering its permanent removal, but Al Lutz later said that Disney will not be removing the attraction, but Al Lutz later reported that Disney is not removing the attraction at this time.
Project Status: In progress. Began April 20.
    Completion Date: June 12, 2009

    Cosmic Waves
Details: Fountain/marble water sphere undergoing "reconstruction."
Project Status: In progress. Began April 20
    Open Date: Mid-July

    That's a lot of but's...

Can't wait to see the new color scheme. Will the "planets" be spinning again when it's completed?

    A little redundant, no?

I hope we get some good news within the next 10 months or so. Maybe Star Tours 2.0 another attraction to replace the Big Buildling in Tomorrow Land that houses STUFF. Something Big! that would be nice

    Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

I second the sentiment. Something big is badly needed at Disney parks not named DCA. Star Tours 2 at both DL and DHS would fit the bill.

    Re: Disneyland Project Tracker

I could care less for a Star Tours attraction. I would love to see something completely new thought of.
