I to like the color scheme... the details on the individual planets pop out and are more visible now than they were when everything was a single color. When it was all that gold color, your eye kind of slid over it all in one glance. Now there are changes in color and hue and intensity that hold your eye and keep you looking at it more. It is suddenly more interesting to see and lit and in motion it should be very pretty. I am really anxious for some details, any details, about Baxter's plans to leak now. lol.
That was the worst part about the gold paint scheme- it was a huge, ugly color that caught your eye quickly and then you realized that it was very boring and just a huge, ugly-colored structure so you moved on. Hopefully it will be pleasing to the eye now that it has a cooler color scheme and the planets will be moving.

Forgive my run-on sentences of passion.

Next year? Just a rumor, I'm afraid. It would be years before the platform goes back to the platform, if at all in the near future.

all the new contrasting colors actually make the AO look nicer. before it was tooo gold/bronze... now the contrasting colors make it look more architectual than an eyesore.

if the new colors are what we are to expect in any TL redo...I can't what to see how it all comes together

What Nautilus means is that AO will be moving again when it reopens and many people have never seen it move as the mechanisms havent worked in some time...soo the new color scheme and the refurbished movement will look amazing as it will almost be like a whole new ride.

No, Themro648, I'm not hiding anything!

If anyone remembers when AO first opened, the "sculpture" on the top portion of the ride had a lot of movement and the planets would orbit and move in all different directions. (I have video from 97 when they were testing it, man, those planets would really speed and fly! They toned it down a bit by opening.)

For the last couple of years, the "sculpture" stopped moving and the top half would just move with the rocket portion of the ride. (though because of inertia, it wouldn't move at first when the ride started, but it would start to move with the ride and when the ride slowed, the top part kept spinning)

With the new paint job and the fixed up "sculpture" mechanisms, AO will be one purty attraction.

I remember seeing that... it was freaking awesome in motion (correct motion). Then it just became lamer as it stopped working.

It's going to look pretty cool in motion with the new colors... and lit up at night, the different colors should react beautifully to the lighting and take on really neat shifting tones as they move in and out of the lights.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I saw them testing AO right before the parade!! Looks like the rockets are the same color and the planets weren't moving yet(just followed the jets) Oh and as I was leaving, I also saw spotlight testing for Magical! Looks really cool! Oh and if you guys care, I GOT THE CALL TODAY TO START WORKING AT DISNEYLAND!!! WHOOOOO
