Low capacity at the resort?

I am trying to plan a trip out to the resort before the year is up, when would be the best time to go with the fewest people?

Re: Low capacity at the resort?

I'd say mid September thru mid October, or Early Dec would all be good. Just avoid Holloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. (But these other times I mentioned, you might see some of the decorations, without the crowds.)

Re: Low capacity at the resort?

I went in early December last year, just before the big holiday rush, and it was unbelievably empty. I literally rode Big Thunder three times in a row in the early afternoon without ever having to wait. There were people in line, but so few of them that I was able to walk onto the first train in the station.

Earlier in the day, there were about this many people on Space Mountain:

Oh, just a quick thing--you'll probably want to use a word other than "capacity." That usually refers to how many people an attraction or park can hold (per hour, usually), not how many people are actually there.

Re: Low capacity at the resort?

This gives a rough idea of attendance at various times.

Uncle Bob is right. Due to the gas crunch and the economy, however, attendance is down regardless of when you go.

That's a good time, Halloween decorations should definitely be up.

Agree with that statement.....should be completely dead by the end of August, all the way until Thanksgiving (I'll be surpised if we have any big crowds on Labor Day weekend even)!

I second this. If you can go during the week during the period immediately following Thanksgiving and before the kids get out of school, the place is usually a ghost town. If you some some drizzly or rainy weather on top of that, the crowds go down even more.

However...the disclaimer would be that anything is possible. Some weird convention in town and a number of school trips could throw everything off. But for the last couple of years, the lack of crowds during the week right at the beginning of December was very noticeable.
