Favorite things guests have done for CMs

    Hey all,

There are countless threads on all the great things CMs have done for guests but I think it would be as great to hear about some of the favorite things CMs have had guests do for them.

Attraction/job specific or general, what are your favorite things guests do that you enjoy? Simple things that any guest can do make your smile? Turn your day around (in a good way)? And of course, any stories about uncommon things that guests did to made you laugh, or even made your day, week, year or career magical?

This question comes up because no one has a perfect day every day and there are guests who believe making others happy at Disneyland is not just for CMs to do.

Pick up trash. Be understanding that we're simply following the rules, and when we ask for the guests to do something, that it's in the best interest of their Safety.

I believe they are on here, but rarely post... The Bubble Ladies... their contribution to spreading the magic to CM's is legendary! It's also the only time I have ever gotten in trouble on Jungle by means of a high powered fan and several containers of bubbles!

I use to work at the stroller shop and would get yelled at everyday when we would run out of the electric wheelchairs. Other guests would see what was happening and when it was their turn to come up, they would tell me that I'm doing a good job and its ashame that people have to throw fits at Disneyland. So the guests that are very understanding and understand that we can only do what we can, means a lot.

I love it when some guest see me cleaning the shops putting away merchandise in the correct spot and they help.

As an 'Honorary Citizen of Disneyland" I see myself as being one of those guests. I regularly pick up dry trash as i come across it, direct first timers to rest rooms, offer directions to attractions, offer help to CMs or even simple encouragement after a tough guest. I have helped restock merchandise after its fallen from shelves, or reached for higher items.
i have turned lost kids over to security or escorted them to 'Lost Parents.' Whatever it takes to make the wheels turn a bit more easily so we can all enjoy the total Disneyland experience...

Who are the Bubble Ladies? Do they wander around with a bunch of bubble containers and blow bubbles?
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

I saw a friendly guest apply some suntan lotion to Ariel's back, tummy and chest once.

That's a little inappropriate, also she is in the shade and wears that nylon covering right?

Back in '96, family got became really close with the concierge staff at DLH and decorated the entire lounge for them one day with their names on the wall and balloons and confetti, streamers- the works! We just really appreciated how wonderful they were and how they always went the extra mile for every guest (regardless of the fact that some didn't deserve such special treatment due to their disprespect for the staff and snooty attitudes)!
A photographer even came by and took our picture for the Disneyland Line! It was pretty cool to be front page news! Now they switch the CM's, or at least concierge between DLH and GC, to my belief has caused a slope in customer service.

I quoted the wrong one! The fact someone DID that was inappopriate- not the comment about it (sorry my bad)

She is in the shade, but the nylon top is CM choice to wear. I have seen some wearing it and some not wearing it, both in the parade and at the meet-n-greet. Just depends on the CM who is playing Ariel and the weather that particular day.

As for appropriateness, all I can say is welcome to MiceChat.

Cool story about the DLH staff though. Thanks for sharing that!

We're planning on making little business cards for our trip in September. A quick little "thank you for making our stay magical" kind of thing. Place for us to write in their name quickly and just hand it to them. That way they'll still get something written they can hang on to thanking them for their hard work.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
