I suppose 4 days isn't considered whirlwind, but normally when we go to Disneyland, we go for a week and spend 5 full days going between Disneyland and DCA. This time we had 2 full days and two not so full days due to travel.
Day 1, August 14:
On Thursday August 14, we flew into John Wayne Airport and arrived at about 8:30. After grabbing our bags we boarded a Super Shuttle bound for the Disneyland Hotel. When we arrived we were able to check in and get a room! Normally rooms aren't available until the afternoon, or at least until after check-out time (or at least that's been my experience)!
After going up to our room on the 7th floor of the Dreams tower to unpack, we were off to Disneyland on the Monorail!
After a trip on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and POTC, we decided to take a trip on the Mark Twain. The Columbia came by first but it was too warm to ride it.
In honor of the petrified stump!
The view of POTC from the Mark Twain:
The view of New Orleans Square:
So much to see along the way:
I think the animals were scared stiff of the boat
I miss the little animals that used to pop up
Who's laundry is this?
Later in the afternoon, my mom and I decided to rest for awhile near the Carnation Gardens. This area is so nice and quiet!
After a rest, we headed into the jungle!
Here's one reference to the Indy movies:
Zebras always sleep that way, with their necks slightly bent and surrounded by lions. Better let him rest in peace
The umbrella is another Indy reference:
Ellie! I think she is so cute!
After an awesome dinner at the Blue Bayou, we decided to take a trip on the train:
A reference to the fact that in the Indiana Jones movies, the dog was named Indiana?
I missed riding It's a Small World!
My mom and I ended the night by watching the fireworks from the end of Main Street. The perfect end to a perfect day!
Day 2 coming up!
