    Wickeddisneygurl's Whirlwind Adventure!!!

I suppose 4 days isn't considered whirlwind, but normally when we go to Disneyland, we go for a week and spend 5 full days going between Disneyland and DCA. This time we had 2 full days and two not so full days due to travel.

    Day 1, August 14:

On Thursday August 14, we flew into John Wayne Airport and arrived at about 8:30. After grabbing our bags we boarded a Super Shuttle bound for the Disneyland Hotel. When we arrived we were able to check in and get a room! Normally rooms aren't available until the afternoon, or at least until after check-out time (or at least that's been my experience)!

After going up to our room on the 7th floor of the Dreams tower to unpack, we were off to Disneyland on the Monorail!

After a trip on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and POTC, we decided to take a trip on the Mark Twain. The Columbia came by first but it was too warm to ride it.

In honor of the petrified stump!

The view of POTC from the Mark Twain:

The view of New Orleans Square:

So much to see along the way:

I think the animals were scared stiff of the boat

I miss the little animals that used to pop up

    Who's laundry is this?

    Ducks!

Later in the afternoon, my mom and I decided to rest for awhile near the Carnation Gardens. This area is so nice and quiet!

After a rest, we headed into the jungle!

Here's one reference to the Indy movies:

Zebras always sleep that way, with their necks slightly bent and surrounded by lions. Better let him rest in peace

The umbrella is another Indy reference:

Ellie! I think she is so cute!

After an awesome dinner at the Blue Bayou, we decided to take a trip on the train:

A reference to the fact that in the Indiana Jones movies, the dog was named Indiana?

    I missed riding It's a Small World!

My mom and I ended the night by watching the fireworks from the end of Main Street. The perfect end to a perfect day!

    Day 2 coming up!
    I'd rather be at Disneyland

Day 2: In Which Wickeddisneygurl (finally!) Meets a MiceChatter Face to Face

On Friday August 15, I met up with Rocker! He and I have been talking for awhile and were very happy to finally meet face to face!

We had a lot of fun and I was so happy to meet him! If you want a full report of the day, check out his TR because I took a grand total of 3 pictures of our time together. I'm not sure why I did this

    Anyways, on with the pics!

Before I met up with him, I rode Storybook Land. I haven't done this ride in awhile:

After Storybook Land, I had a little bit more time before it was time to meet up with Rocker, so I walked along the Big Thunder Trail to ride POTC:

While I was on POTC, I got a call from Rocker and we agreed to meet at the exit.

After my parents left we rode a lot of rides. One of the best experiences was on Splash Mountain. We got SOAKED!!! He was in the front and I was right behind him. By the end of the ride, he was wringing water out of his pants and my pants were literally stuck to my legs!

The back of Rocker's head. Notice how he is still dry :

This point marked the end of out dryness:

I have no pictures from the rest of the day so please be sure to check out Rocker's TR once he gets it up for a full report of our antics!

After Rocker and I parted, I went back to the room with my mom. After resting for a bit, we went back to the park at about 8:00. We walked around for awhile and then staked out a bench to watch the fireworks. Sorry some of these are blurry, but I don't have a camera that takes great nighttime pictures

I really like the way the Matterhorn looks in this pic!

This was the best day ever because I finally got to meet an MCer! This day has been 2 years in the making! Hopefully I will meet more of you when I go again next year!

    Day 3 coming up!
    I'd rather be at Disneyland

Day 3: The Last Full Day

On Saturday August 16, my mom and I entered the park early and did most of the Tomorrowland and Fantasyland rides. After that, we headed toward Splash Mountain, but it was down (the water was drained and the audio was on and off), so we headed for the Jungle Cruise.

    Not Tigger:

    The African Bull Elephant:

    His mother-in-law :

I bring you something truly special and unique, something you'll never see again, something you should not try to see at home. I bring you.........

    The backside of water!!!

    Another Indy reference:

I will never get to stay there :

The detail in NOS is beautiful! So many visits and I've never really taken any notice of it:

POTC was the next stop after Jungle Cruise:

After POTC, we headed over to DCA and got in line for Midway Mania at 9:30. We only wound up waiting about 15 minutes when the line reached Paradise Pier. I did not win, but next year is a whole new year! After Midway Mania, we rode Soarin' Over California (we tried to do Grizzly River Run, but it was also down). After Soarin' we tried Grizzly River Run again. This time it was open. We grabbed a Fastpass and then got in line. We weren't really all that wet after the first time, but we were pretty wet after the second time!

After meeting up with my dad, picking up a purchase at the bell desk, and grabbing lunch at the La Brea Bakery (a rather tasty chicken salad sandwich), we hit the Jungle Cruise again:

    Still not Tigger:

Okay...so maybe you WILL see it again

    Ellie!!!

    Ellie (the extreme close-up):

After a quick caffeine break, it was time for more adventure:

We walked over to Small World to see what we could see:

    Ummm...no comment...

    Still no comment...

After visiting the closed Small World, we decided to visit the new Innoventions Dream Home. This table was so cool! When you touched it, it reacted. It looked like there were ripples in the water. People were commenting that this would completely ruin table conversation (many commented that they had enough trouble already getting their family members to tell them about their days).

This fountain was pretty cool. I'd love to have one outside my house!

The view from the top of Innoventions:

I never saw this move during the trip:

After grabbing a Fastpass for the Autopia, we grabbed dinner at Pizza Port. The salad I had was pretty good! I'd actually have it again! After dinner my mom and I used our Indy and Autopia Fastpasses. After walking around for a bit, she and I collapsed on a bench and watched the fireworks. I videoed them and I will see what I can do about posting the video once I get it uploaded to Youtube!

Just playing with the shutter speed on the way out of the park. The pic came out pretty cool (IMO):

This was our last full day. The next day we spent a few hours in the park and then headed on home.

    Day 4 coming up tomorrow!
