Re: Golden Dreams Closes September 7th

I am surprised so many people say they enjoy the song. I find it to be grating and annoying. Even though I do think the attraction itself is well done, I think with the budget cuts it is just a poor man's American Adventure.

I love the song! I mean it's totally late '90s early '00s, but it's still really nice...plus the singer, Heather Headley, who won a Tony Award for her performance as the title Role in Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA (a Disney musical!!!), is one of my favorites...but yeah I personally love the song!!!

If someone could still get a better quality video, like not moving so much, it would be great. Especially if its the last day.

Plus, I find it shocking how an uplifting song like that gets such a bad rep. I think most of it comes from people just not wanting to love any part of DCA.

I always hate it when we lose original attraction but the fact that they are putting a top notch ride in its place is a reason to get excited.

I understand your feelings. I compare it to the closing of Skyway & PeopleMover. Those 2 rides got nothing in replacement for their closure. Rocket Rods came later but still nothing for the Skyway. Golden Dreams is no where near those classics and is getting something hopefully unlike anything we've seen.

So losing an attraction is never good, but knowing something will blow away what was there before is the light at the end of the tunnel.

If only it could be shown in the new theater instead of leaving the theater vacant.

Yeah, it's going to be great...and it's kinda cool that even though we lots Ariel's Grotto in DL, we're going to get a whole new meet and greet at her ride! Fun!

I disagree, I love the song too. And I don't think this movie suffered that many budget cuts. It is a remarkably directed film, & is considered one of the most technically advanced films at any Disney theme park.

The fact that it was a film and not an AA based show was the budget cut.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

Saw it for the first and last time yesterday, and I really liked it. The ending song was a bit long, but it was great seeing all of the inspiration pictures of celebrities, famous people, and random people making their dreams come true. This is will be a missed attraction.

I saw it yesterday for my second and last time at 9:00 PM . It was just me, and then 2 other couples made it in. It was sad knowing that that was the last time I was ever going to see an attraction..........
