Graffiti on King Arthur Carrousel

In memory of how well that other thread about dirty fish turned out, I'm hoping this thread will instead take after the one about the Mark Twain that got it the attention it needed. In other words, I'm really hoping that by drawing attention to this, someone will take the time to buff and paint over this:

Some idiot graffitied this horse on King Arthur Carrousel. Whatever "Snow Swel" means, it's been carved into this unfortunate horse's saddle.

While I know and accept that they can't repaint every last little chipped spot on all 68 horses at once, graffiti goes beyond expected wear-and-tear. Graffiti isn't something that should be left anywhere in the park overnight. I'd go and fix it myself right now if they'd let me, but fat chance of that happening. It really gets to me when I see harm that was done intentionally to the horses by stupid guests, because I love the carrousel more than any other attraction in the park.

So if you work in Fantasyland and can do something to restore this poor horsy's dignity, please give it a try.

This horse is right in front of Jingles on the outer ring -- here's a shot of the pattern on its saddle to help identify it:

There's a lot of damage done all over the poor carrousel, but this was the only one worth reporting to City Hall (if they took such reports anymore).

Did you report it to the CMs running the attraction? If not then you have a much less reason to expect it to be cleaned up. If you did, then give them a couple days.

Re: Graffiti on King Arthur Carrousel

That's really lousy isn't it. I hope they clean it up asap.

I actually saw someone carving what presumably is their last name into a tree near California Screamin. There was no way I was going to confront this individual personally -- you never know how they are going to react. And I figured if I were to have a CM call security the job would have been done anyway.

To this day I can still see "GARZA" carved clearly into this tree. I guess if you can't afford a brick in the esplanade this is one way to go about it.

I hope Disney sees this thread and cleans up that horse. I don't know how to clean up a carved name on a tree without inflicting additional damage though.

I got all CSIish in Photoshop and burned in the Graffiti a bit more:

Bummer to see this, but I'm sure the touch up crew will be all over this one in due time.

Re: Graffiti on King Arthur Carrousel

I wish you the best Dark Lady. Be prepared for individuals to call you a nitpicker and question how often you go to the park. Aside from that good luck, it looks pretty bad. I know CM's used to walk the Carousel every night when closing, and every morning when opening, but sometimes things are accidentally overlooked. Hopefully something was at least said to the CM operating the carousel. Usually they will then call it in and hopefully it will be painted over or removed (not sure if the remover is too abrasive to work on the horse).

Autopia Has a good reputation
Re: Graffiti on King Arthur Carrousel

Ok, first, that needs to be reported to the CM at the attraction it self so they can (or a lead) call maintance so that a record is made and it be delt with.

Oh, City Hall will still take these reports. They will not let you WRITE IT DOWN. Major difference in writing and just taking. And if City Hall would do what I would, they should call the attraction to see if it has been reported and a work order put in. And if not, that should start the motion of the attraction putting it in.

I imagine management will get on this quicker then just regular wear. Fortunately, graffiti is universally hated.

I believe the comment was directed at not knowing if City Hall would actually pass on the information. I have heard several individuals on here complain that when they voice their concerns the CM at City Hall did not note it down and subsequently tossed it. Monorail Man had similar comments concerning this.

well, I think someone should post a report on that immediately or it won't get fixed.

Seems like the GUEST RELATIONS forum would be a good place to discuss this:

This is sad... what is wrong with people?!
Thanks for the heads up and thanks for letting city hall know... even if it falls on deaf ears.
