Maybe they should wait till we actually see what they've done with the place. It sounds good, but who knows what it will actually be like. Hopefully, it will be as cool as it sounds.

This is going to be great! I really excited about this, its about time we had a store that sold things like this instead of the same merch being offered at all stores.

Kim Irvine *usually* does things pretty well, with a definite eye towards the past. The Lilly Belle and the Fred Gurley were both rebuilt--and rebuilt well--by her as Art Director.

(No comment on the Dream Suite...)

this sounds lovely! i hope it's well executed and that it sticks! i've very excited for this, because the one of a kind shop is one of those shops that i think was really unique (haha, duh) and that i wish was still around.

Re: Fortuosity Shop - Opening October 3, 2008

"which we hope everyone will find some type of fun fortune or treasure each time they visit the shop." Says miss let's add plush to ISAW so we can sell more.

You know, they should really say, "which we hope everyone will find some type of fun fortune or treasure to buy each time they visit the shop"

Really though, don't read much into it. It will be like Port Royal with an artsy interior design, but there won't be much put into it. The redo of Pieces of Eight was given a whole article of its design being reverted to that of the pirate arcade, but there really wasn't much there at all.

Till I see it, I'm not buying anything those "executive liars" say.

Re: Fortuosity Shop - Opening October 3, 2008

So, they are STILL going to carry watches and timepieces?????!!!!?????

And the Artisan watches??? Is that what their plan was originally, or
are they back peddling, now???

Was she the one who came up with the idea for the Dream Suite? If not, then I don't see why she deserves any blame on that.

Besides, the Dream Suite, from pictures, video, and personal experience, is downright gorgeous. It's too bad that only a select few got to go in it, that place was made for tours and the like.

Re: Fortuosity Shop - Opening October 3, 2008

It is great that they are getting creative in the park but they lost a unique shop in the first place to do it. Why didn't they take the back corner of the emporium and change that instead of ruining a shop that already had character.

disney-fan-reborn has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Fortuosity Shop - Opening October 3, 2008

I hope this is what they say it is. If it is, then I hope it is the start of them bringing back Main Street to something of what it originally was.

Sometimes we have to work with what we're given. Regardless of the motivations for the dream suite and its impact on the park, you have to admit that it looks absolutely gorgeous.

As for the Fortuosity shop, there are these niggling little rumors that the "unique items" it will carry will be similar to the offerings at Vault 28 in DTD, which means slutty clothes for teen girls.

I agree completely. Since they NOW say the watches and timepieces and Artisan watches are staying, something doesn't add up. We certainly don't need another craptastic V28 - ESPECIALLY on Main Street.

As for the Dream Suite - Get it the HECK out of NOS on 1-1-09, and say it was all just a horrible nightmare!
