When do you think the ride will open? Late 2009? Mid 2010?

I'm going to ILM soon. I'll ask him.
What do you have to give?
All that Ihavecan.
Summer 2010 (for the 55th). They'll be adding adorable Disney characters to several of the classic scenes, including Mickey and Minnie in a moving 'Salute to America' tribute on the forest Moon of Endor.
Dream big. Do what you love.
If STv2.0 is based on the storyboards I saw on a trip to Walt Disney Imagineering in 2006, it's gonna be awesome.
All your favorite Star Wars/Lucas characters (but none of the original live -action cast), Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, that two-headed announcer from Episode 1, etc. will be in it.
The storyboard I saw was based on the star-speeder going off-course and ending up in a podrace. The pictures on the storyboard were all concept art pics, not actual digitized photos, so who knows if that's what the end result will be. But I loved the concept.

ANYTHING would be an improvement. But the ride system needs a major upgrade, too. It feels like...well, a simulator from the 80s. It shakes you a little bit. It's boring. And maybe they could do it in Digital 3D!
<3 There are a million cupcakes in the world but only one is Cupcake Terror. <3
I AM THE REBEL SPY.
GL told a source that they wanted to completely scrap the current concept. This would mean an overhaul of the entire show building as he would like to remove the star speeder.
He explained that because the movies never actually showed the star Speeder, it was a little bogus. But they did mention Wamp Rats. Remember? Luke used to use them for target practice back home? Possibly an early sign of his moving to the Dark Side if you ask me. Anyway, George would like to give the riders a first-person look at life as a Wamp Rat on the old Tat.
I'm excited.

While Wamp Rats are cool and all, I like that Star Tours deviates from the movies while not really leaving canon at all. It takes you to places within the universe of Star Wars that you haven't been to before and in ways that you haven't. You still get to see a battle, the Death Star and blow past Endor, but they aren't the primary reason for the attraction. That is what makes it so great. Granted, you never got to see Wamp Rats being bulls-eyed by Luke in his T-16 so that may be cool too. Just as long as they don't rehash the movies, I'm cool with it. And please dear Lord almighty above, DON'T put Jar Jar in.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
Yeah, no Jar Jar ... PLEASE! There are so many things that they could do with this ride. All I ask is that we get something worth while.
