Disney Halloween Special?

As far back as I can remember up untill I was 12 years old or so (I believe) There was always a halloween special on the Disney Channel with some famous disney voice as the magic mirror from Snow White who narrorated the entire special. I remember the dancing skeletons cartoon, Ichabod Crane (sleepy hollow story), Mickey's Ghost Detectives, and a cartoon short with Huey, Dewey, and Louie trick-or-treating. Do they still play thi or is it available on DVD? I would love to be able to share it with my own children one day and I'm hoping some other 80's babies on here know exaclty what special I am talking about. The whole thing was so well put together and very Halloween-y in a Disney way. Hope someone can help!

They don't show it anymore, I know what your'e talking about, I watched it every year religiously. Originally aired Oct. 1st 1983 and ran until the late 90's. You can get the DVD of Disney's Halloween Treat. Disney's Halloween Treat was featured in A Disney Halloween. A Disney Halloween was comprised of two shows: Disney's Halloween Treat and Disney's Greatest Villians. I really wish it would come out on DVD, it was really somethng great. The closest your'e gonna get to it is going to be Disney's Halloween Treat. It's funny that you mentioned A Disney Halloween, I have been thinking about it the last couple days and wondered what became of it.

WendyBird - Thanks for bringing this up. I too remember watching this as a kid every Halloween. I usually think about it this time of year and wonder if it will ever be shown again.

oh hell no, don't get me started on this one. I'm a HUGE Disney Halloween nut and I would love for the theme parks to get back to the idea of doing a Halloween special either on the Disney Channel or ABC but nooooooo, the company has to be all PC and not the computer kind.

At least we still get our Christmas special or is it now the "holiday special".

BUBBA!!! Thank you so much!! I am so grateful for your efforts to pull that outa the YouTube cobwebs ahah I can't believe I didn't think of resorting to good ol' YouTube in the first place! I favorited A Disney Halloween 1-9 and it DOES include the villians special part with the magic mirror (voiced by the same guy who was Capt. Hook originally, I'm sure he's done plenty more that's just the most recognizable) The quality isn't great but until theres a DVD release one day (hopefully Disney Treasures can pick up the ball on it) I will at least have this as a glimpse into the past and simpler times!! It's so awesome when you see those clips that totally make you feel like you're a kid again!

As for the quality, the video I linked to was pretty good. However, it only had five parts and I'm not sure if it included the villain's segment.

I loved the Halloween Special- it has some of my all time favorite toons. I ended up buying Mickey's House of Villains a few years ago just because it had some of these Cartoons on it.

I have DTV Monster Hits on VHS. I believe it's on the same recording as Totally Minnie.

Gosh, I forgot about Vault Disney, they need to come up with a channel for us folk that are still interested in the older cartoons and the Disney Halloween stuff. Wasn't that what Toon Disney started out as? Whatever happened to good old fashioned cartoons? I hope one year Disney will play the halloween special late at night on halloween, I bet they will be surprised at the number of people that tune in to watch it.
