My Day at Disneyland doing a Scavenger Hunt

Recently completed a Scavenger Hunt. At the time it seemed fun working with my team to complete the questions by 6:30pm. But after spending the day with my head buried in a clip board and looking for answers, I feel somewhat let down. Where did the day go? What happened to the magic?

I saw a whole different side of Disneyland. Do I like this side? I think I'll stick to going to Disneyland to experience the magic of just enjoying the sights and sounds around me and to not try to count the number of ships/vessels in POTC.

Has anyone else been involved in a Scavenger Hunt at DL? Did you come away feeling the same way? Or am I not a true Disney Dork?

Rest easy my friend... you are indeed a true Disney Dork. There are just different breeds of D.D.

    Disneydorkus technicus and Disneydorkus magicus

There are those who thrive on the technical side of things and those who simply adore the magic, and nothing more. And then there are the cross-breeds. All breeds are equally devoted. Your dorkdom remains intact.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Back when I worked in the corporate world this was a "team building experience" which did two things:

    1. Made me sure of my feelings about whom I did and did not like in my former workplace and reminded me why I did not strive to have further relationships with those people outside of work.

    2. Made DL feel very small, uninviting and unattractive for that one day.

Luckily, it all went away after I left that day.

My wife and I take close-up pictures of things make an album and give it to our friends with clues where they can find them. Now they do the same for us. After doing this you really appreciate the detail of things in the park.

that's just like our "where in disneyland" thread game! what a fun idea.

personally, i think i would like to have a scavenger hunt in the park, but only if i was either a passholder at the time, or on a vacation where i was going to be spending more than two days inside the park. if you have very limited time, it seems like you shouldn't have any goal other than enjoying the park to it's fullest on your own terms, right?

Was this on the 13th of this month by any chance? I saw quite a few people congregating around Plaza Gardens for some sort of scavenger hunt that day.

It sounds like something I might want to do but then again, I'd rather do something like the Gumball Rally and actually go on rides

Scavenger hunts are fun if you have time. We take pictures ranging from easy to nearly impossible to find (Close-ups of tiny things). We give it to friends and family who really know the park and are planning a trip.
