It seems every radio station in SoCal is parked outside the HM

So I was taking some shots this morning, this being the first day of Halloweentime, and when I got to the HM, I found it to be a bit crowded. To add to the congestion, in front of the HM was...

...what seemed to be just about every radio station in Southern California...

So...If you're headed over there tonight, bring LOTS of patience.

But...keep in mind that the HM will be worth the wait.

I figured that this wouldn't be huge news anymore. I mean really, it's nothing NEW, so why is it NEWS.

It's all about advertising and marketing.

Keep in mind that that statement only applies to some people.

Wow, that's a little much - couldn't they spread it out a little more - why not put them over in DCA - it seems like there is more room, and maybe it would get a few extra people over there.

That'd be much too dangerous. Someone on the radio might actually use the name DCA.

To be exact it is part of the annual commitment on behalf of the radio groups in order to get on the ad buys negoiated through sales, programming and promotions/marketing.

Just to advertise Holloweentime mostly and partially because they have nothing better to do.

Traditionally KROQ has gotten out of doing these mass events in exchange for other alternative promotions more in line with their image. The best example was "Breakfast with No Doubt" there, that bought them out of alot of other "MESSAGE" remotes.
