    Re: Peter Pan's Flight

It's a great ride, probably the best in Fantasyland. My one and only gripe is that it could be a little longer.

It's funny I took a picture of Big Ben, accidentally with my flash on. All the clouds are are plastic bags on strings. Kinda neat what a few lighting effects do.

Alice in Wonderland is usually considered as the 2nd best Fantasyland dark ride.

Definitely true about Alice. Fore me it's Peter Pan, Alice, Mr. Toad.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

    Re: Peter Pan's Flight

Whether or not you're a fan of the character Peter Pan, the original story, stage play, movies, etc, the ride is excellent. Now if you are a fan, it's a definite must and will leave you with an ear-to-ear grin that makes your face ache. I'm biased of course, as my Mom named me after a character in story, but even after all these (many) years, I still love this ride more than any other at Disneyland.

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Alice is quite nice. I took my friends for the first time, and they couldn't believe they had missed it all this time.

But personally, Pinocchio is my favorite dark ride, followed closely by Snow White. They both creep me out, however, and I can't ride them alone.

    Re: Peter Pan's Flight

Alice would probably be my next favorite after Peter Pan too.

But I really do like Pinocchio--it's one of the rides that gives me strongest "Disneyland feeling." Lot's of great details and artistry (especially on the clocks and music boxes in Geppetto's workshop.) The Pleasure Island sequence is probably my favorite in any of the Fantasyland dark rides following the London/Pleasure Island flight in Peter Pan. Pinocchio also has some of the best, most Disney (and Disneyland) defining music in it (and it's not "When you Wish Upon a Star" that does if for me, it's "Hi Diddlee Dee" and "Little Wooden Head.") And the best part--it's often times a walkon or a very short wait.

Some advice on Alice--if you want to ride it, try and hit it up during a parade. By mid-parade the line has usually dried up to nearly nothing plus you get some great views of the parade during the outdoor parts. I love Alice at parade time!

    Re: Peter Pan's Flight

Peter Pan was the only fantasyland ride we skipped last time, because the lines were always so onerous. But we had ridden the WDW version (thank you, fast pass) recently anyway.

Still, there's no way I'm missing Pan on my next Dland trip.

I suppose I really do need to just buck up and ride both Peter Pan (for the first time) and Alice (for the first time since my semi-early childhood) next time I go.

    Darn right you do.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.
