Sure Tours & Soarin' show you the seat belt in the video, but it's not a requirement like Indy is. Only Indy has the requirement. I call shenanigans.
Indy has the requirement due to the nature of the attraction and the lawsuits stemming from the "rough ride". Star Tours has a safety video as well, which you watch prior to being able to board. Same with Space. It isn't a matter of forcing people to watch it per say, it is a matter of giving them a chance to watch it. The concept is that you stop them when the safety portion of the video is going to ensure everyone has the chance to see it. For the most part it doesn't work... as is demonstrated by how many can't even buckle their belts on Indy.

If you really want comedy, we all had to review our OG's becaue a CM on Star Tours did not require a Guest to remove their perscription glasses prior to starting the show...

Well, I guess they'll realize there's a problem when all the Single Rider passes start disappearing,
That is actually what spurred the decision last time.

Re: Single Rider Line returns to Indiana Jones Adventure

I love single rider for this attraction. It helps on my solo trips.

Sorry. Didn't word it very well. When I said I walked past everyone viewing the safety film I meant the queue in there was really packed. I, on the other hand, walked all the way down to the front on the right hand side. I did have to wait at the rope and watch the film part about the seat belt. Then the CM let me past the rope where I continued on my way.

Also just as a note, my daughter was with me but we knew we would not be together. As a matter of fact at the above mentioned rope the CM let me through but held her at the rope even though she had seen the film. The elevator door was closing just as she came up to that part. I ended up on a vehicle before she even came off the second elevator. So maybe that is one way they are hoping to keep single riders from grouping together.

Re: Single Rider Line returns to Indiana Jones Adventure

It actually took some practice to get that 2 side solution to work! When the requirement first came out they tried loading the whole thing, then holding it, then letting it go before loading another one. I forget who came up with the double side but it works! Downside is a lot of the Indy kids don't know how to actually fill it up, and even if they did the station usually can't handle it! 15 cars... come on crew "Station Backup is not the Lamp Test Button!"

Ok, now I'm getting confused here. I don't recall ever having to merge with the standby line in the altar room when using the SRL before it was removed. I distinctly remember being instructed to go all the way up the exit, straight to the elevators, never once having to watch the safety video...

Re: Single Rider Line returns to Indiana Jones Adventure

Well yeah, one problem is the fact that you never watched the safety video. So they reinstated SR, but at the cost of watching the video, merging with the normal line until the elevator, and then boarding. Sure, it isn't as good as it used to be, but its better than waiting in the normal standby line the whole time.

It's entirely possible that you didn't. It wasn't a mandate for everyone to watch the video until shortly before Indy's SRL was shut down. The video mandate and the SRL couldn't co-exist without basically facilitating line jumping. They still can't, even though they've started the SRL up again.

SRL in its current form is great for those guests who play by the rules and know that they have to ask back out of the main queue at the handicapped gate. But, it's also great for groups of guests who all ask for Single Rider passes, then pocket them along the way, join the main queue at film room, never ask out of the queue, and happily ride together having line jumped.

I guess they'll be real surprised when their Single Rider tickets start vanishing again...
