    Cool Indiana Jones Picture

Why doesn't Indiana Jones have an attraction poster? As stated in The Disneyland Encyclopedia, under the sidebar named Attraction Poster Subjects:
    Adventureland
    Enchanted Tiki Room
    Jungle Cruise
    Jungle River
    Plaza Pavilion/Enchanted Tiki Room/Tahitian Terrace
    Swiss Family Tree House
    What happened to Indiana Jones?

I'm confused. Can someone please tell me why one of my favorite (and one of the most detailed) rides, doesn't have an attraction poster?

    Well now it does.

Thanks for the pic. But I wonder why the book wouldn't say so.

Actually, this is the real poster. I believe it was done by Drew Struzan.

You are correct! I still need to frame mine. It was sold for only $25 back in 1995 at the Disney Gallery.

It's not in the tradition of the classic disneyland posters, wonder what it would look like in that post-modren style.

Yup, that's it. Mine is hanging on my wall at work, nicely framed

From what I know about it's history, Disney for whatever reason didn't retain the rights to actually produce these beyond a limited edition run of 500 that they did originally, which were hand numbered and sold out of the Disney Gallery when the ride opened.

Oddly enough, the Indiana Jones Adventure poster seems to have never been made the same size as the original attractions posters, which are 54" by 36" (thanks Circarama for clarifying that earlier for me!) as you can
find a picture of Eisner and Lucas unveiling the attraction poster, and George Lucas is standing next to it looking at it (at about the same depth) and according to various web sources, he is 5'6" tall, and the poster appears to be about half as tall as him in it.

This was the size of the poster that I believe was reproduced for sale, and unless I'm mistaken, the poster never actually hung in the entryway to the park.

My poster matches the size of the estimation that I have for the one in the picture, as it measures 33" tall by 22" wide. Mine is not numbered, however and supposedly was given out as a gift to some of the executives that worked on the ride, or so I was told from the person I bought it from. The numbered ones are supposed to be the same size. One sold on eBay not too long ago for about $90.

I believe that Disney stopped selling these because they had to pay a separate licensing fee for the use of Indy, and they determined it wasn't worth it to keep the licensing up for the attraction poster, especially because it is an attraction poster that most people don't even know exists...

    Hope that helps!

One is the "official" poster and I think the other was maybe an alternate that was sent out as post cards for promoting the attraction in a way that reads better maybe?
