Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

Does DL still do the candlelight procession on Christmas Eve? We've never been there ON Christmas, but I would love to do that one year. Hey, Santa can find us at the hotel!

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

Last year when we were there, it was Dec. 5 & 6 or sometime early in Dec.

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

While the Candlelight procession is a magnificent production, it really could not be done on Christmas eve. Most families are celebrating or traveling that day. Disney could not get all the choir to come out and sing, since most are from local groups or churches.

The Candlelight processional is usually the first weekend of December only.

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

We watched it last year from the sidelines. We got inside an area that was roped off, and, we had an excellent view of Jane Seymour (who was the narrator) and the choir, etc. It was beautiful. I don't know if I would pay for a seat, since I had such a great view from where we were standing.

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

Candlelight always takes place the first weekend of December. On Christmas Eve, however, there's a special Goodnight Kiss from the Entertainment department that is really something to behold. [If you want to know, I'd be glad to tell you about it, I don't know if you wanted to be surprised. ]

I want to know! I doubt I'll ever be there on Christmas Eve.

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

As the fireworks go off on Christmas Eve, characters line the Main Street store entrances and as the lights come back on, they rush out on to Main Street for photos and autographs and everything. It's a little bit crazy (ok, a lot) just because people get so excited and there's so many characters (they bring out everyone -- I've seen Friar Tuck and Prince John and all of these bizarre characters).

They'll go on and off stage for the next two hours (fireworks will end around 9:45, the park closes at 12:00 midnight) and then as the park is closing ALL the characters will come back onstage and make their way to the Main Street Train Station, which is blocked off at the bottom of all the stairways by Steam Trains CMs, and they'll line the whole front (facing SB Castle side) and sides and even spill over the tunnels where they blow kisses and wish you goodnight and Merry Christmas... It's absolutely incredible.

Re: Candlelight procession on Christmas Eve??

Thanks guys! I'll see if we can squeeze in a trip the first weekend in December then. I think originally it was done on Christmas Eve, or at least closer to Christmas.

I just love that whole time of year at the park.....
