Those famous tracks you don't hear enough of

    Hi.

I took some photos of Tomorrowland .. around the entrance a few months ago.

Now that I can load up a full res shot at 30 seconds instead of 9 minutes (eegads! I hated it!) .... I got around to posting these pics to my Epson Photo account.

So .. incase anyone is interested .. here's some cool night-time photos of TL at night dating to May 25th:

    http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/Albu...a=31884400&f=0

Since Epson doesn't end with a ".jpg" or similar .. you just have to click on the darn link.

OH .. and I guess the administrators of Photo Bucket don't like me. I'm completely locked out ....... So, no more pics to present inside each post for now.

So, while I sit, and pray for those in the gulf states .... take a few minutes and peruse some evening photos of Tomorrowland.

I especially liked the first few with the peoplemover track overhead... and I think the second one is my fav with the handrail for the astro orbitor... really.

    Very nice shots!

    Fantastic pictures.

I never noticed how neon-y Tomorrowland is.

Did you stay after park closing BTW? I don't see any people in the pics.

If you go through other albums I have .. and see "TL Photo Update April 15th" and "TL Photo Update April 17th" .. you'll see more of the same type of shot.

This set is very similar to the others .. but everytime I've taken these photos .. I go for a slightly different setting .. to bring out other colors. And also take notice ... a lot of these photos are not in realistic lighting. Tomorrowland is mostly dark at night.

My pictures are actually a good representation of how much brighter the land should be in the night-time.

It's way too dark .... reminds me of some "Blade Runner" scene. Tomorrowland should not have a "Night Club" atmosphere at night. It should be how brilliantly colorful and bright .. as the future should present. As in ....... "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow SHINING at the end of every day."

I'm with daddyb, i like the 2nd one best because it gets both sides in and looks down tomorrowland to get the observatron in it too.

    Very nice photos.

Nearly 30 years later .. It's amazing how graceful and elegant those Peoplemover tracks look. In a newly designed Tomorrowland ... I have such trouble trying to picture them any different.

I hope these photos are a constant reminder of the POTENTIAL a Peoplemover 2.0 would have!!

There are so many imaginative new Peoplemover designs I can come up with in my head. Surely the "professionals" sitting within 1401 Flower Street, Glendale, can come up with some absolutely cool ideas that EVERYONE would love.

I took them just minutes after the "park is closed" announcement.

It's a Sony "Cybershot". 3 year old camera. And I was able to get those kind of photos due to the wonderous features known as "ISO", "White Balance", and timed shutter speed settings.

    Hey hakuna makarla ....

Since you apparently have a love of some old 1939 MGM film ..... do you know yet another DVD version will be coming out soon?

    A little lesson on "Technicolor":

As you might know .. the old 3-strip "Technicolor" process never was able to produce sharp lines .. since it's 3 strips trying to line up perfectly to create one. From what little I know ... a digital process was done to take The Wizard of Oz .. all three original strips of film .. photographed one frame at a time .. lining up perfectly .. to create sharper edges.

Just when we thought we had the "definitive" version .. there always seems to be something new that can be done. Also ... multi-channel surround-sound is possible for this version .. since it was normal practice to place multiple "stems" throughout an orchestra pit throughout the 30s and 40s ... with sound being delivered to a series of seperate audio tracks .. where they later combined them all to create all that was available for the theaters in 1939 - single track "mono". And since many of the original "stems" were saved in MGM vaults ... we may just might be able to hear "Over the Rainbow" not just in 2-track stereo .. but MULTI-track SURROUND.

    Great shots Escape. Thanks!

I'll be at DLR with camera and tripod in hand at the end of October. Looking forward to doing some night shots as park hours allow. My Canon A70 just died tragically (as did my Olympus before it), so I'll be putting my new Kodak Easyshare Z740 through its paces. Can't wait!
